what springs can be swapped out?

Last winter I installed a 5.5 superlift. It looked great at first but I also wanted to add the steel washer spacer. I waited to let the springs settle for about a year now. But now the truck sags so low that it looks like a 4 inch lift. I don't know why. Instead of replacing the springs with new 5.5" I wanted to put in an 8" and scrap the washer spacer idea. Would this work? If not, any ideas of what I could do, maybe 6.5" or f150 coils? I want to get the maximum lift possible out of these 5.5 superlift brackets while still being able to align my front end properly. Thanks for all the help in advance

Try Skyjacker coils, like a 6in, then add spacers to take up the slack

But instead I want to do a 5.5 to 8. Is that too big of a jump? You can see in his pictures that 4" coils and 2" spacer was still lower than a 6" coil. Why is that?

ok, when most companies list their spring heights as "4inch" that is generally based on a more common 3.0/2.3 Reg. Cab truck.....not the heavy 4.0 SC....on a 4.0 SC they may only give 3" of lift....

everyone will generally get different lift heights because of how much the stock springs have already sagged....

haveing a 4.0 SC and getting 8" coils may work....but generally you can only go 2" more than what the brackets you happen to have on the truck will allow ( you having 5.5 and wanting 8 is a 2 1/2" difference )....

use Jeep coils is if you need extra flex for off-road situations with extended arms....you can search that in the Tech Library....

and F150 coils are extremely stiff....I would never recommend them unless you were trying to do autocross/racing.....

That makes alot of sense. I'm sure there is no 7.5 coil out there. Are Jeep coils softer than superlift or skyjacker coils? A soft 8" coil may sag enough to work. Bennybooster had a good idea though. I may have to try that. Only problem is I'm not sure how high I can go before its too much. I'm sure an alignment shop won't sit there and keep swapping out washers till its just right.

jeep coils are usually softer. you can contact any company and ask their ppi (pound per inch).. RC lift coils are like 540 ppi for the b2 and 280 ppi on their cherokee lift kit.

That's sounds like the way to go. Bigger lift and softer ride all in one. Will any Jeep model coil work? Or should I go with Cherokee coils

look it up, search! i say that because i don't remember exactly

Ill do that. If I add spacers to that I guess ill just have to make multiple trips back and forth to the alignment shop till they say I'm in spec. Pain in the ass but it'll work...I hope

some places offer life time alignments..

$150 at my local firestone. compared to $65 for a single one.

Ill give them a call tomorrow. Its after hours already. Hopefully they offer lifetime alignment. That would be perfect. Never heard of that deal before.

I would suggest looking into early Bronco coils for a heavy Supercab truck. They're a little bit stiffer than Jeep coils at around 300PPI, but still much softer than your typical TTB lift coil.

Interesting. I would assume they're stiffer due to the broncos added weight.

I think the 8" coils would be too much of a jump unless you have a heavy chunk of steel with a winch hanging off the front. You could get away with it but you will have lots of positive camber for about six months till the coils are good and settled (ask me how I know lol).

I'd suggest SJ 6" coils and then spacers to get the height you need.

Also, you would have to sacrifice some lift height if you were to consider swapping to early bronco coils in (so that the steering linkage is COMPLETELY flat) otherwise the steering becomes a major pain in the ass if its not.

If you want to keep or increase the height you already have, probably gonna have to put down any ideas of early bronco coils, unless you have lots and lots of money to throw at a custom double-swing-arm-equal-length-always in phase-steering setup.
