Hi everyone,

I have a 96 ranger with P23575R15 tires on it. What tire size options do I have with these rims? I want to buy new tires for it but I want to explore less expensive options than the 235's.

Any help/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks,

Paul

Gonna have to be a little less vague than that bro. What do you want to do? Go bigger? Smaller? MT, AT, or....?

if you want less expensive than 235 you must be going down. reall thought that size is not that expensive you could prob get 4+install for around 300.

According to your profile your Ranger is a 2wd. 235's were not the factory size on 96 2wd's, if I recall correctly they came with 215/75-15's (4wd's had 235's). Might be a smidge cheaper because they are smaller, OTOH the cheapest 235's I've seen are the old-school Goodyear Wranglers, that's the only size they make them in now, and Wal-Mart had them for $77 last I looked. I got a set for my daughter's Jeep at my bud's tire shop for $90 each installed. That's pretty cheap.

Hi guys,

To a little less vague, I bought it with the 235's on it and I am looking to sell it but need new tires. I want an inexpensive tire for it and I was thinking that a smaller tire would fit the bill.

I don't understand fully what 23575R15 really means. Is it possible to put a 22575R15 on the rim? 215? I know it has to stay at 15 obviously; I just didn't know what options I have with my 15x7 rims.

Thanks for the help!

Paul

225/70R15 will be fine.

let me explain:

235 is the tires "width".

75 is a calculation off the first number, and shows tire profile. a 235 with 75 profile will be a smaller sidewall then a 315 with a 75 profile.

15 is the rim size.

Either of those sizes will be fine. There should be a sticker inside one of the door jambs, probably the drivers side, that will have the factory original size on it. Unless it has peeled off over time or been painted over or the door replaced.
