The 92 I bought a while back had a shotty install of the electric fan.

It is no longer turning on. I want to rip out whats there and reinstall a new one.
Can anyone tell me what size fan is in there. I tried to measure .. but definitely not accurate.

Wanting to by the Champion Cooling fan. Comes with installation kit. Fans shown are 10, 12, 14 an 16 inch.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Regards
Sum

I had one of their 16 inch fans on my ranger and it just kept up with the cooling. I would not go any smaller. I used the "wire ties" through the fins kit that comes with the fan and never had any problems with that mounting method.

Biggest one that will fit. Also mind the CFMS. Not all of the same size have the same CFMs. Get one that has a lot.

Ok thanks fellas. Anything has to be better than nothing.

I didn't want to tear it apart until the other fan was here.. but its not working anyway. Ok .. biggest that will fit. Most cfms.

Their kit comes with. New sensor. On this engine. 4.0l there are 2 just under the throttle body. From what I understand, one is the the gauge, one is for the ecm. Any idea which is which ? I do have the full complement of shop manuals. Stufs not always easy to find .. and I suppose I can ask champion.

The one with the single wire is for the gauge. The one with 2 wires is for the ECM.

Also might wanna run a diode off the AC compressor to kick the fan on when Air conditioner is on.

You need to find a new spot for your sensor, or sacrifice your gauge sensor(not much of a sacrifice in my opinion). You obviously can't get rid of the ECM temp sensor.

I spliced a fitting tube into the hose. They sell all the sizes cheap on fleabay and whatnot.

I just ordered one for my truck. I went with a 3500 cfm kit that has a shroud instead of mounting through the core.

The A/C doesnt work anyway .. so Ill probably wire directly to a 12v engaged when the key is turned on. Just have to find something I can use. It does get hot her in NC but Im not in the truck all that much .. as I mentioned .. its my cheap g work horse around the house. I live in the country .. so you know .. garbage dumping .. Home Depot pick ups .. occasional towing of my bikes.

How was the install ? Pretty easy without much modification ? Direct bolt on ?

Haven’t received it yet. It’s still in transit. I’ll let you know.

I just replaced my clutch fan and put in a new radiator.l in my 4.0 OHV. I cleaned up my original fan. It cools nice now.

I did exactly this too. But I’m putting in the E-fan to try to save a tiny bit of fuels. I go yo sortta remote areas and try to carry another 5-10 gal but getting 5-10% better fuel economy will help some. Especially now with prices so dang high.
