What size fan in a 92 Ranger 4.0l

My 2007 4.0 Mustang came from the factory with an electric fan. I do not know much about it, other than it never overheats, even in the summer with the ac on.

You will probably gain more acceleration than mpg's. But if that means less gas pedal, then it helps.

How was the install ? Pretty easy without much modification ? Direct bolt on ?

Just got mine. Also did the two sensors, water pump, water pump pulley which was hard to find. Did this part of the install on Saturday. Will do the fan install after work. Ill take it slow.

What I dont like is the 2 options for the fan to monitor the temp. Should be a ring connector on the coolant sensor.

My install went pretty good. I didn’t have any issues. The top of the new aluminum shroud had tabs to mount it to the top of the radiator. I bolted the top with the stock shroud hardware and then used the supplied plastic ties for the bottom. I’m also running a larger radiator. A 4 core aluminum radiator for an explorer. I have 1/8”- 3/16” clearance from the threaded stud for the mechanical fan on the water pump. It clears though. The fan cools it plenty good when idling or driving at highway speeds so far. It stays under 210 deg.

I had a 92 4.0 with a 9-inch lift that I had a lot of problems with running hot. Tried 2 electric fans and the regular fan at the same time, I little better but not the way it was supposed to be. I got a new clutch for the stock fan and also got a shroud that wasn't cut up ( by previous owner) and a new radiator without a small leak in the under side of the tank. It ran nice and cool after that until I sold it a few years ago.

Along with the new Radiator Clutch fan install, I did about 8 radiator flushes with water (running it 20 minutes each time)., and on the last flush I used a Prestone Flush liquid, then flushed it again. On my last flush, I flushed out the heater core nicely with a garden house, and then filled it with Prestone Anti Freeze. The temps have been running normal.

I have a 14" on mine and it coolsy v8 pretty well. The hardest thing for me was to find 1 thin enough to fit without hitting anything.most fans aren't thin enough with adequate cfms to clear everything.I looked at alot of fans until I decided on a maradyne.Thin high powered,so far so good.will probably change to 16" if it ll fit on my radiator.
