Ok so i got my insurance check today ive already got a couple things i needed like a tool box , new CB ant. now i have a few options on what else to buy i could get some warn hubs, kinda pointless since i eventually plan on either a sas or d35ttb swap, body lift i would like to be able to clear 31s not sure if i can now need to look into it better but would like 2-3 inches of body lift. I could set the cash aside into the tire account, new door panels are a possibility. I'm just not sure. If you had 300 dollars what would you get a stock 83 ranger.

Two things that make your money work hard for you are the BL and the shim lifted front block rear. What i'd do in your situation is put the money in savings and research what you want' Think about what you want. Changing your mind is what costs money later.Any time you buy something always make sure everything you buy is used or as cheap as you can get it.

for the body lift...i have seen a guy use hockypucks before....they are like 99cents each...and add like 1" or soo. I have also seen a guy use wood...not good for on-road use though i would guess....he was a redneck...haha

I would have to agree cause of my own experiance...as long as you plan on keeping the truck...think and plan what you want to do to it overall...make a "wish list" including all the small details, and go from there. I made the mistake of doin stuff that was "cool" at the time, and lost money cause i changed it later

Hmmm, buy your truck a naked woman like Charlie Sheen keeps around the house....lol

If your only wanting to clear 31s I would save some money and just get some longer coils. I personally think it would look better and you would probably have more money to spend on the tires and gears (if you need them).

well i got the tool box ive been needin for awhile, and a new cb antenna my old one got stole and i just said f it and took it out workin on gettin it all installed been kinda busy with work. picked up a new diff gasket and some 80/90 after i got back from testing how well toolbox was installed i noticed a new leek in the diff and gonna give her new brakes, im thinkin bout just getting a 3 in body lift since that will still be what i want when i do the sas and suspension lift, and will look good with my 285/75/15s kinda. ill just hold on to it till this summer when i do the body swap and do it all then

I'd do a tune-up and change every fluid in that thing, if you haven't recently. You said you needed brakes - I'd get them, too. Then, with the few dollars left you budgeted for the truck, I would spend it on some stuff to detail and fix up the interior and bodywork. After you have it running and looking good, then move onto the modifications. My first one would be a duraspark and a holley.

for a lift i'd do the longer coils and blocks (or beltech 6400's shakles) just don't lift enough you need drop brackets.
if you do try to do a full suspension lift do NOT get rough country or you'll have to replace a bracket later when you do the d35 swap..
find some jeep coils that are flexy that'll give you the ride height you want. nothing more than 2 inches or you'll need drop brackets ( i think...).

if you want the body lift on you FINAL product, then do it... now if you can.

ive already done everything except flush the diffs the front is full and the fluid is good, brakes are still good kind of and interior/ body work is useless i have a body for an 84 that is perfect the original body has some scrap sheat welded to the driver floor rusted all out, core support bend from accident. so this summer i plan to strip the new cab down all the way ,sand blast, prime paint, and undercoat in all hidden places and floor board. gonna do the 60/40 bench swap i want an arm rest lol, after that a new guage cluster one of the headliners with the four speekers new dash cover it is all gonna be a flat hunter green if i can find it if not od green, black trim toolbox will get powder coated black i hate shiny on a 4x4

You can get a 1st gen explorer sport center console if you have buckets and want an arm rest. I'd get a bodylift to put on when you swap cabs, and start picking up parts like extended radius arms, drop brackets, and coils. When you have it all gathered up, put 'er on!

hey so i pulled diff cover off turns out the leak was coused by a combo of surface rust, and a horrible rtv application by an unknown party, turns out i have 375 gears in the 7.5. the gears seem to have a blackish coating on them im guessing from old age should i clean them some how or just leave them alon not gonna tear it apart to do it out side of housing. oh and i wana paint the cover do i need high temp?

i would..

and get a lube locker for when you put it back on.. those things are AWESOME
