I want to build a rear end for a Ranger swap. I want disk brakes, so I need a 95-2001. I don't want a LSD, as I want to use an Aussie locker. And I want to re-gear it to 4.56/1. What should I expect to pay for an open diff Explorer rear end? Also, what is the easiest way to tell if it is bent?

You can find deals for 100 dollars (usually you have to pull it yourself). I would say 100-400 depending on condition and how long/well you shop.

I just picked up one for $200 that with them pulling it. Its out of a 95 and had 100k on it. The disk brakes were in excellent shape I didn't have to turn the rotors or put new pads on it and all the brake lines and hoses were on it. It was a L/S but they had open as well.
