You can install a Ford posi-trac in a 7.5" axle. You're going need to replace the carrier thou and that means gaping the pinion & ring correctly. Or you can install a Lokrite without much hassle. Some folks just swap the whole axle for one with the LSD already in it and get the beefier 8.8". All of the axles made for the Ranger are interchangeable. Just make sure if you are going the 8.8" axle route, to grab the u-bolts and mounting hardware too.

look toward your future plans for the truck are you going big tires off road and such or high way use, big tires off road 4:10 8.8 just on road high way then a cheap 7.5 factory if you can find one with 3;73, you get what you pay for and its better to pay once than have to pay again cause you made other changes

You have some ideas of ford 7.5 lsd that i can use because i dont think i can do the 8.8 or if know some web sites i can look

I prefer to read this kind of nice stuff. The quality of content is fine and the conclusion is good. Thanks for the post.
