At the wrecking yard you may find a better kept one with bolts and light plug included for not much more.
Also the bolts aren't just simple bolts but have backing plates also

Mostly what I want to pull is my '65 Bus, over the whopping distance of 4 miles to a wonderful person's repair shop so he can put my old Bug's engine in it (the tow bar, I have already), but yeah, there's a chance that at some point I'll think I want to tow something else, where lights will become an issue.

Probably gonna be hard to find a slide in with a shower and toilet for a small truck.

I have an 84 Skamper and there is no room for any of that. It is fairly comfortable for two though...

Capri Camper makes a mid-size slide-in that has an optional shower. About 1100 lb so I would add airbags to the rear axle.

There's really nothing complicated about the light connection.
They all go first to the left tail lights, then, exiting the left set is a plug where the right ones are plugged to.
The "tow package" connector just plugs into the connector exiting the left side, and has a connector to plug in the right side to.

(Asking because I'm pretty new to all of this and really unsure what all is included in a "tow package") :/

It’s all semantics but...
My understanding is a tow package from the dealer generally includes the receiver hitch, the wiring connections and sometimes a wiring harness for a brake controller and on newer vehicles with automatic transmissions there may be a special “tow/haul” mode that changes the way the transmission acts. The part that slides into the receiver and attaches with a pin is the draw bar. The ball generally mounts in a hole in the draw bar.

New stupid question: I found and acquired a receiver and draw bar (as named above) at a wrecking yard. I pulled it from a 2002, and while I didn't get the wiring, I did get four bolts and the six backing plates/shims that were on the donor vehicle. Went to U-Haul today, to see if I could get a hand installing the thing, and they want me to buy a whole new bolt package in addition to the $75 labor. Don't think I'll go back, since I have friends that will help with the labor for considerably less, but what about the bolts and shims? Do I really need new bolts, do you think? There was at least some good news; the tow guy said he's done enough installations on Rangers that he was confident the bar would fit my '93 (No one has yet held it to the space and actually compared, but let's not go crazy or anything).

If there’s any question of the bolts condition... replace them. If they’re rusty, bent, stretched, cruddy looking, or if you pick one up and sneeze... replace them. Better safe then sorry. If they’re in good shape, I’d reuse them.

Grade 5 bolts are what comes stock on those kits. Probably 1/2". Cheap enough. I wouldn't hesitate to reuse bolts. If you can run the nut up and down the bolt easily then it will be fine.

For added clarity, I had no difficulty getting them off of the donor vehicle, no issues with threading, and no one at U-Haul actually inspected the bolts on the bar.

It could just be their company policy when installing hitches. All it takes is getting sued once....

Most rangers frames are really about the same. I know I have a rear bumper off an 80's ranger and it bolts straight up to my 99 with no mods or anything so I would assume the hitch would be the same. Stay away from U-Haul's as they will give you nothing but harassment about what and how you want to tow stuff (it's their policy so some dumbass doesn't tow a dually with a ranger or something else stupid heavy on a not so capable truck). They will do anything they can to get you to rent their stuff instead. My friend tried renting a tow dolly and they wouldn't let him once he said he was using a ranger even though he beefed the suspension, rear axle and what not.

This was one of my thoughts, too, which led to my bringing the question here to people who don't have that same concern
