I hooked up my brakes and they work but I can't lock up my front 33's on the road. Should I be able to? The rears lock up and im thinking I may have the lines reversed. I have the port closest to the the front of the truck hooked up to the rear brakes. Is this correct?

Are you other guys with stock brakes able to lock up 33's on the road?

Its a 1991 Ranger XLT 4.0 4x4.

Things may have changed, but AFAIK the biggest of the two reservoirs serves the front brakes.

Trying to lock your brakes on dry pavement isn't a good idea... that's a lot of energy and momentum. Add big tires and you get even greater forces.

Rear wheels have little down force on them under heavy braking, especially in a truck.

Thanks guys.... but I wanted to make sure they work properly!

So are the ports like I described? Can someone check their lines please?

Front port goes to rear brakes. Rear port goes to front brakes.

I have the good 94+ brakes on my truck. My brakes are working properly and perfectly. I cannot lock up my 29 inch tires on dry pavement without standing on the brakes with both feet. I really doubt you will lock up your 33 inch tires with the single piston calipers you have.

Does it stop fast you really dont want the front wheels to lock up anyway you lose all control. I believe the front brakes take about 80% + of the energy when stopping. The new electric cars actually use stopping energy to charge the batteries

I adjusted my setup and bled it more, now its great. Thanks for the help guys!
