I have a 94 ranger that just died on me had a weird smell come in the cab,i was checking things out and the fuel pump is not working. put a new one in but still nothing. Checked the fuses, relays and they are good. Can't find where or what the smell is but don't know where to start next. Had someone say its the PCM but i dont know how to check it. any info would be great. oh it has 240,000 miles

Did you check the inertia cutoff switch? The smell could be from a burnt switch.
