I came up to our street after work and pulled onto it. There was a car on the road trying to make its way up the Street. So I pulled over for the guy. ( Been snowing pretty good the last night. ) And after he passed me I tried to get going again and got stuck. I tried to rock myself out and heard a loud bang. Didnt really pay much attention to it and got myself out of where I was stuck. I came up to my ave and tried pulling into it. But got stuck. My daughter heard my truck and came out to see if I was o.k. She went to try and lock the 4 wheel in but found out I was missing a hub. ( ahh so that musta been the loud bang ). Any ways after getting stuck in my ave I finally got the truck parked. But now it wont idle.? Cant say what it is maybe someone else can.. It got hot in the snow but I dont think it should not idle. Because it got hot.. But dont know why it wont idle. I have to 2 foot it if I want it to idle. Any ideas as to whats wrong with it??

take a look at your IAC solenoid..could be stuck shut.

tap it with a screwdriver while the truck is running and see if it comes loose. otherwise you may have to pull it off and clean/lube it.

idle air controle solenoid. its the valve the PCM uses to control the engines idle. if its stuck shut the truck will idle very low or not at all.

hit the search for more info...it gets talked about alot.

k cool thanks man. I was looking through my Haynes manual for one but couldnt see it. I think I will do a search on it. Thanks again.

It is the thing bolted to the passenger side of the intake manifold. There a harness coming off it. I believe it is held in with 2 bolts.

Well after reading about it I tried it. No luck ( damn ) I tried just about everything. So what I ended up doin is adjusting the ( now Im not real good with what things are called but Ill try ) the linkage screw? Anyways I got it to idel for me.
How bout the hub lock its totaly missing. Can I drive my truck like this. I relize I dont have 4 wheel any more now with it gone but can I run around in 2 wheel drive still??

Is the hub cover gone(the thing with the lock you turn)? If it is, then I would not because the wheel bearing is exposed to the elements. If you can not see grease, you really shouldn't. But you can for a little while if you want to replace the bearings/races in a few weeks.

Yeah the hub cover is gone. I dont realy have a choice to not drive it. I kinda knew that once I saw it gone and broken it would be expensive to fix any way. Im going to have to see what the wreckers have

Wheel bearing are not expensive, I believe they are around $10 each and races are ~$5 each. Only thing you will need is the hub cover, that is the pricey piece at somewhere around $100 I will guess.

this could be a long shot but if you can get it running at all and semi-warm check the cat(s). they could be clogged, ive had this happen to me and it was random, confusing, and out of the ordinary.

ps
mine were glowing red hot
