My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
So we have a "what are you listening to" thread about music. How about a thread about what movie you are watching or planning to watch?

I saw one last night called "The Way Back". It was about a few guys who broke out of a forced labor camp in Siberia during WWII and their 4000 mile walk to freedom in India. Excellent movie. I highly recommend it. Supposedly based on a true story. I found it on Hulu.

So what should I watch tonight?

I started watching a show called siren about killer mermaids... also a very good film from the 70's called debbie does dallas.

We watched Badland last night on Netflix, it is pretty decent for a newer western. Nice variety of firearms too.

At least they have been working on that, it isn't only SAA's and 1892's in westerns anymore.

Well, after the trainwreck of a 7 episode series that was "Tiger King" nothing really quenches the desire for great entertainment, anymore. So I started watching "The Mandalorian" on "Disney+", thanks to my buddy Pete giving me access to his account. It's not horrible, just wish there was more dialogue, but I guess not much can be said between a drifter and the nonverbal, bipedal frog he was supposed to kill, but has taken on as a pet/child, to call his own.

Kelly's Heros, again and again, same for The Great Escape or Stalag 17
Almost anything with John Wayne or Steve McQueen or William Holden or James Garner
Knowing how they end doesn't matter, lol

Our Daughter and grandson(7 years old) have moved home, not Covid-19 related, so had to get WWE Channel, I am learning the names of the wrestlers

The Mandalorian was ok... but since you have Disney+. Go to National Geographic, look at the series section and find a series called Drain the Ocean. They use the newest sonar tech to map shipwrecks (and other stuff) and then use 3D imaging to show what it actually looks like. Its pretty interesting.

I watched one of those last week. It was about Alcatraz. Cool show.

Titanic Drain the Ocean is good also. I second watching Drain the Ocean series.

Babylon Berlin is absolutely amazing, but it takes a few episodes to really get its footing. Wild historical fiction conspiracy/political intrigue drama set in the Weimar Republic in the late 20's.

For the Mandalorian I think they were channeling "The Man with no Name" Clint Eastwood character. He acts a lot like him, even the music seems to be inspired by that western's trilogy music. As the series goes on he talks more with other characters though.

The drain the ocean thing is neat, they get kind of sensationalist about what they are going to discover... and they rarely discover anything by "pulling the plug"

I have only watched the WWII and Bermuda triangle ones so far.

Gran torino, twister, o brother where art thou, the tiger king thing, and smokey and the bandit.

Last night was Ferris Bueller's day off.

havent seen that one in over 25 years, and as an adult, I totally see Rooney's point of view and think that he got the raw end of the deal lol

And Ferris is a horrible friend.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is on Netflix!

I'm watching Criminal Minds right now. Gonna be on this for a while.

I've heard Soylent Green is a good movie.
