what kinda axle do i have???

what kinda axel is this? my friend told me its an 8.8 but, i think he's a dumbass... maybe its a 7.5?

Yup. Slightly oval-ish. 8.8 is a bit more square-ish.

where is the axle tag located at?

It should be on one of the diff cover bolts. But it's gone

There is no such thing as 3.88 gearing. 3.73's is more likely.

Well, If he is talking about a 9", could very well be the 3.88/3.89 ratio with the 28 spline axle or a 3.91 with a 31 spline axle.
