What kind of oil do you run in your 4.0L?

Let's hear what people are running in their 4.0s. I run Supertech 10w-40 full synthetic from Wal-mart.
 
Whatever the cheapest synthetic 10W-30 I can find is. Usually it ends up being Mobil 1.

All my vehicles call for 10W-30; kinda convenient (the Prizm takes 5W-30 in subzero temperatures).

Why do you care? Oil is oil to a very large extent. I do the synthetic thing due to mild oil-use detonation.

I agree that oil is oil. I was just curious as to what most people run as far as the weights go and any additives.
 
Motorcraft 5w-30 synthetic blend. Excellent stuff. I had been running Valvoline conventional 10w-30, (in the Explorer) and the Motorcraft seems to make it run much smoother and start easier. Maybe it's my imagination, idk, but I think it's really quality stuff. I'm using it in the Explorer, Ranger, and Accord, and I plan on continuing to use it. Although I think may start using full synthetic in the Ranger because of it's cold-flow properties. I notice a very subtle tick on cold mornings.

I'm thinking about running the Motorcraft blend this summer, then running full synthetic in the winter.
 
Motorcaft 10w30 in the summer 5w30 in the winter, always with a motorcraft FL1A filter

Why? Cuz i work there and its cheap.

yeah it scares me to try it just yet, I'd like to give it a few more years to see how engines like mine maintain with it. Back in A & P school when we were looking about sythetic and regular mineral oils, the lack of scavenging characteristics of synthetic stuck in my head. My friends Passat had problems with an orifice getting clogged up with sludge and messed something up. The mechanic who worked on it suspected the use of synthetic oil partially to blame since it doesn't hold carbon deposits and other debris that well in suspension. He thought it may have allowed sludge to build up in certain parts of the engine. Don't get me wrong synthetics great stuff, but could harm certain engines, if they have those "sludge sweetspots".
 
I've been using Valvoline 5w-30 conventional oil and a Valvoline VO-1 Filter for as long as I've had the truck. Not a problem in summer or winter weather.
 
mobil 1 10w 30 with a FL1a motorcraft.
 
Pennzoil 5w30 oil and the cheapest filter....The oil comes in the perfect quantity, 4.73L, and it's usually the cheapest too. I change my oil every 5000k, which is on average every 4 weeks so I couldn't justify the extra expense of synthetic. An I don't wanna bother with synthetic and oil samples because I'm swapping it for a cummins soon enough anyways.
