Well, this morning i was driving to school this morning and all the sudden the battery light came on. I knew my alternator must have gone because when i got to school, the battery hadn't re-charged. (the needle on the batterry gauge was way low.)
So after shool I had a friend jump me and I started driving to advanced auto parts. When I got about 2 miles from my school, the truck started accelerating and braking by itself. Then the tach started jumpin from 1 grand to 3 grand, back and forth.
i nursed my truck to advanced and then shut it off. I heard a loud "pow!" come from under the hood, and then my gas gauge swept from empty to full, back and forth, 3 times.
The guy at advanced thought i was out of my mind and said "sorry, i can't help you.". So i called up the same friend and he gave me a tow back to my house.
I then tried to start it back up and...nothing. no lights, no horn, radio, starter, just... nothing.
This may sound nuts, but what in the world caused this? In my few years of experience i have never heard of this. My truck is now dead in front of my my house, and i need to know how to fix this.
Any info will be appreciated!
