A site where your free speech is taken away?

A person was just deleted, all because he said he liked Toyota over Ford.
He was receiving death threats, people were swearing at him, and all kinds of things were going on. But did he retaliate in the same? NO!

Why would he be deleted and nothing happen to anyone else?

I think that this has been an Abuse of moderator power, Jim should look into it.

Some of the moderators on this site are self centered, and dont care for the opinion of others. They locked a thread that was flowing smoothly in a conversation about Motorcycles, and continually start arguments back up again from posts that were 2 even 3 pages old.

Free speech is in the first amendment. Why is it being stripped from us here?

The thread was locked because of a few people arguing back and forth and throwing out personal insults. Free speech is allowed unless it becomes hateful and then it will not be tolerated. It is a free country, however this is a privately owned site.

I locked the thread, I did not however delete his account or any of this posts.

Instead of locking the thread you could have done the sensible thing, and warned the only people starting the personal insults (dusty etc) and then everything would have stopped.

Whoever did delete the profile/posts needs to learn how to properly deal with such threads as well.

If your referring to the Ranger pics thread it was moved to the "Show off your truck" forum.

there is no problem with anybody thinking that any vehicle is better than any other vehicle. you have to remember though, there is no reason for somebody to come to a site specifically relating to rangers, then talking about how much they suck and how his truck is better. what did you expect would happen? its only going to start problems.

It was at the end after dusty and the others left, we were having a conversation about the differences between Hondas and Harleys.

If the posts were not deleted, i would show you.

A mod locked the topic because it was way beyond the original topic. The actual discussion was over and another user started posting just to be a PITA. His only posts in these forums were focussed on being a PITA.

Once the discussion over the bench seat in the bed was over and shifted to (1) member VS all other members it was locked by a mod and I cleaned it up by deleting all the off-topic BS and deleting the member who's only posts here have been to annoy the other members.

Not every one of his posts have been to annoy other members. Just once they ripped into him about his views on Toyota he defended those views.

sorry, i was one of those guys. the guy just rubbs everyone the wrong way. he has been very insulting in the past to everyone, he has a very bad attitude, and a bad way of expressing his views. i wasnt bashing toyota for the sake of it though. i just get sick of that guy, on a ranger site, saying what junk they are. he just has nothing better to do. if the mods let him go on, insulting everyone, nobody would want to be here...no one wants to be insulted all the time. he will come back, but what else can the mods do? again, i am sorry to anyone i may have insulted. and good move on the mods part.
