I recently replaced a defective door latch assembly in my 95 Ranger and noticed it had two twist-lock switches on it. In the attached picture (below) I'm pretty sure that the switch circled in "Red" is for the door ajar light/chime, but what is the switch circled in "green" used for. Thanks for any help.

Not sure if this is the case on the later Rangers, but Taurus' from that era had two switches, one for the courtesy lights (12V switched) and one for the Door Ajar indicator lamp (Ground switched)

locovaca, thanks-a-million. I just did a parts search on "courtesy lights switch" for my truck and found that exact switch. So at least I know what the switch is. Now I need to figure out how they work, because I don't get any courtesy lights when I pull up on the outer door handle (which activates the switch circled in green). Anyone have any ideas?

Could be a fuse. Can you turn on the lights with the dimmer?
