Go run down to the dealer ASAP and get it done. They will unclip the harness that's on there and clip in a fused one in between. And if the switch is leaking replace it too but you definetly need that harness.
The switch is the reason for the recall. When I had my recall done a couple years ago, I was told if the switch was leaking they would install a new switch and the harness. If it was not leaking they would only install the harness. Maybe they have changed the recall procedure.
BTW, you should disconnect the wiring from the connector right away before you take it in for the recall. Your truck is at high risk of catching on fire with the switch leaking.
