What is the largest size tire that can fit in the 3rd gens tire carrier?

Right now I have a 210-60-R14 or something for it. I had a blowout the other day and stupidly didn't have my spare with me (went camping and needed the in-bed room) and when I went to the shop to get a tire put on my rim they told me I can't use my spare with it anyway. I had to walk about 3 miles to the shop, then back to get the rim, back to the shop with it, and got a ride from one of the workers back to my truck to put the tire on.

I would much rather have a 235-70R15 like my other tires since I can't use the spare apparently. And I do like having the space in my bed open so I was wondering if I could put that large (it's only about 26.5 inches or so) of a tire in the tire carrier? I went out and picked up a 15" steel rim for a spare anyway, just need to put one of my old tires on it. If it wont fit I'll just park it in the bed.

My 06 came with a 235/75 in the carrier. If one won't fit yours you could likely go pick the boneyard and find a newer gen spare carrier that'll hold a larger spare.

The fact that a pickup doesn't come with/can't fit a full size spare is a crime. I never got a chance to look for myself, but can things be modified to fit a larger tire?

Technically it is a full size spare, just my tires are bigger than stock.

I'm hoping to get a tire mounted on the rim around the end of this week. Just have to find an old one laying around..
