Happy New Year, I am not sure if I am in the right place to post my question.
I need information about a part, what is the soft tube called, the one that is connected from the air intake tube to the engine head air inlet near the oil fill cap. The tube is like a soft foam which can be squeezed, the connector part that connects to the the air intake tube is badly crack and falling apart. As a temporary fix I use black tape for now until I am able to find a replacement part,
Which is exactly I have no idea what it's called:icon_confused: I have check eBay LMC truck and other website using keywords like air intake tube, air intake tube assembly, etc.. but no results, I have also check the local junk yard but found none. Need help as to availability online and just exactly what it is called
As it seems the part would not last for long. Oh one more thing, I do not want to replace the air intake assembly to performance assembly, don't actually need it
Unless absolutely no other choice. Thanks

That is simply called a vent tube...rubber tube with a soft rubber outer shell.

Probably won't be able to buy one as most parts are obsolete...junkyard might have one but I wouldn't count on it...

These can either run to the throttle body so the air is sucked in and burned or they can go to the air box...I have one that ran to the air box because I was going to try to vent my oil laden blow by away from the intake so I could prevent the oil smoke...and it worked...somewhat.

It should be 3/8" or maybe 1/2" rubber hose that goes over the nipple on the valve cover...measure to be certain...you can run it through a plumbing elbow to curve it better if you need to...as a temporary measure...

Hi Mark thanks for the reply. I guess I would have to examine the tube and hopefully determine if the connector could be remove and substitute an alternate
Part. Thanks.

I needa picture. The ribbed semi-flexible tube that ducts air into the throttle body would be, IMO, a junkyard part as I doubt FoMoCo still has them on the shelf. Some of the older ones would get splits in the ribs, in the 'valley' and leak air when the engine moved on its mounts, causing intermittent crappy performance.
Needa picture.
