Hello,

I need some new tires on my truck, but I don't want to go all the way to an ALL TERRAIN style of tire. It's much more a daily driver truck, but I do some hunting and the fields/paths get pretty muddy when it rains around here. What is a tire that has decent off road performance, but doesn't give up much gas efficiency for daily driving.

This is much more a driver, and much less an all terrain truck, so please keep that in mind.

If there are any brands that can save me a bucks with comparable performance, I'm open to it.

I'd check out the new BFG Rugged Terrain. I read a great review on them in a magazine recently. Less aggressive than the A/T but still able to get you down a muddy road if you need it to. tirerack.com is an awesome resource for gathering info on tires and they have lots of customer reviews too.

I have the Kelly Safari TSR's on my ranger. they have low noise, they ride good, an they are real good offroad. Their not that bad in the price department either

cooper has a discoverer s/t that ok.

pro comp at treated me real well.

Street rubber IMO...

Duratracs for more street time, MTR if you spend a lotta time offroad.

We had a set of those Wranglers on our old S10 Blazer. They got pretty decent traction, but the tread wear was horrible. When the crappy 2.8 gave up the ghost, they had about 8k on them. They were already down to half tread or slightly less, and we had an alignment done when they were put on. They just seemed to have a very soft rubber compound.

BF Goodrich KM2s' (mud terrain). If you cant afford those, go for the duratracs. If you have 16" wheels, I would suggest Fierce additude tires...my buddies had real good luck with those. And they're cheap to boot. Goodyear makes them
