I got word that the blast was close, so I decided to record the event.

It was around 3 miles away and maybe 2 miles from the hwy.

I recorded for a while, so if you want to see the blast, FF to the time of 8:55.




FYI, the iron ore dust has the consistancy of brake shoe dust; very, very fine

Yeah, the hwy is not even 60 ft past the trees in the backround. There are plans in motion to divert the hwy through the "mined pit" so that they can start blasting where the hwy is now.

They've had boulders hit the road years ago with so much weight and force that it made a huge crater. Some other ones are ore rocks breaking windows in houses.
