what have you been pulled over for?

I cant even remember. About a dozen 12 tickets, between my ranger and my mustang.

The dumbest, IMO, is:

** Speeding 1 mph over in a 20 mph school zone. No deferred adju. since it was a school zone.

WHAT?!!

Yea, that whole "5 mph buffer" ain't true. Speeding is apparently speeding.

There is no "buffer" of any kind when going through school zones, you should not expect one.

I do not expect a buffer. I'm following the rules and going the 20 mph limt just like the 5-6 other cars in front of me. You seriously think I'm purposely speeding at 1 mph over?

I got picked out and told I was one over, at 21 mph. I was shocked. "What?!"

When I tell OTHER PEOPLE about this ticket, they always say, "Oh! But there's a 5 mph "buffer" to adjust for tire size, temperature, etc. He should not have given you a ticket."

I reiterate: I'm a responsible, cautious driver (*ahem* Jason *ahem* :thefinger:).

Press 1 For English, please don't chastise me because you have a different viewpoint and was not at the scene when it happened.

And apparently, you have never been to College Station and seen the police force there. College town or not, there is a certain degree of professionalism that may be shown, regardless.

If I was going 25 mph over, then yea, be a dick.

You don't deserve a drivers license. Somehow common sense tells me you are just telling stories to get attention.

Think what you want. I only speed on the bike. And I have a Class A with hazmat and drive a gas tanker for a living.

what have I been pulled over for?
basically for driving like a idiot in a small town with no crime, more times than i can count.

most of the time its just for being the only car on the road after 2am, but there have been some good ones

best one was going 90 mph, in a 40 zone, in a bike lane

97 in a 55 and he just warns you? Around here a deputy would get fired for that because all traffic stops are on dash cameras and these videos are reviewed weekly. I don't buy that.

Never been to a small town in central illinois have you?

Please do not take this the wrong way but how in the hell do you guys keep your license's? I have had my fair share of speeding tickets, street racing (10 sec eclipse) and other various things. I paid for it for several yrs and learned my lesson. I guess at my age you learn that you should keep it on the strip. Have a good one guys. :icon_cheers:

Mine was suspended when i was 18, revoked when i was 20. It took a lot of begging to get it back and to keep my job. Since then i've changed my driving habits.

AgPete,
Have a kid that attends that college and as far as I know he hasn't encountered any of those 1 mph over cops, but that may be cuz he drives a Neon (ugh)!
Me on the other hand have been pretty lucky over time. Only a few tickets, and a handfull of warnings for mostly stupid stuff. Little town of LaFeria that we live in will write you up for doing 31 in a 30, they need the money to keep our taxes low! Since the town fills up with snowbirds every winter, they don't have any trouble keeping the cash flowing into town.
I'm proud to admit I have outrun 2 cops in my past. One in the foothills of SoCal. Easy to do if you really know how to drive. The other time was running 120+ (needle pegged at 120) when I passed a cop running radar in a parking lot. I went a few miles and found a building to hide behind and about 30 seconds later the cop flew by siren screaming and I pulled out and went the other way. Then there was the cop that stopped me for noise. Old Ford LTD running straight pipes. Cop asked where my mufflers were and I told him "in the trunk sir" and opened the trunk to prove it to him. He followed me home a few blocks and told me not to drive it on the street again without mufflers.:shok:

Got stopped and "advised" about loud exhaust earlier this week, on the way home from work. All the truck had at the time was the Y-pipe and a Cherry Bomb. (When I got it, it only had the Y-pipe...) Now, it's got a "real" muffler. Hopefully this will keep me under the sonar.

I've gotten two speeding tickets. One was in the ex's Fiero (surprised I only got one actually) and the other was just the other night.

I was coming home from work, same way as always. And there is always an undercover unit set up in a speedtrap, and I always see them, slow down, then speed back up about 2 blocks later. This time, however, I was following a semi. I didn't see the car till the semi passed by it, and I slammed on my brakes as soon as I did but the bugger was quicker and clocked me ha ha.

He pulls me over, and goes "Did you know this was a 50 zone?"
"Oh really? I thought it was a 60..." (Knowing full well that it was a 50)
"You were going 70."
"Ah. I see" *hands over licence*

I will say he was real nice about it.

It's still a wrongfull arrest no matter the reason. You could have taken them to court. But if you see it that as it wasn't there falt than so be it. I guess it could have been much worse.

Its not an illegal arrest, he matched the description of another vehicle that was called in for gunfire. If it went to court the officers would simply say they were acting in good faith and it would have been case dismissed.

I love how people always assume cops are going to get sued, very rarely do things like *that* happen^ and I believe if it were some idiot driving around your neighborhood and you called it in and then saw another person with a smiliar vehicle hauled off to jail you would feel it justified :icon_thumby:

I have only been stopped twice in my truck. First time was because I matched the description of a person that rubbed a gas station right off of the highway. (white male with facial hair, driving a black truck, last seen getting on south bound ramp of I-71) I got off the very next exit from there and was almost immediately pulled over (gun drawn and everything) I just did exactly as the officer told me and during the search of my vehicle, the person that actually committed the crime was caught on the high! The officer thanked me for cooperating and also apologized for the inconvenience. I THANKED him for doing his job!

Second time I got stopped was last fall for running a red light, the officer ran my info we had a small conversation and let me be on my way. Come to find out I hadn't had any "violations" in almost 10yrs at that point, so he gave me a verbal warning!

going around a corner after midnight, wet pavement, r.r. tire starts to spin, i grab 2nd gear and its still spinning, hold it to the floor and grab 3rd, stops spinning but 2 blocks later i see i have a "tail". lights come on, i make a turn into a drive so i can grab my seat belt and not be seen doing it, it works, asks usual stuff, licence, registratrion, blah blah blah. billfold is in toolbox behind drivers seat, loaded gun underneath it. get wallet without gun being noticed.got asked what my wheelspin was all about, i said i thought my clutch was slipping, wanted to know why my rear plate didnt reflect light,I wasnt about to tell him i sprayed it down with clearcoat when it was new for just that reason, i just said its a old plate, and it was, probly 10 years old, figured id get something for the fact i have no county sticker, just a small confederate flag decal where the county sticker is supposed to be. i get let off with a warning and told to get new plates. got real lucky that night, started taking another way home from work after that.
