what have you been pulled over for?

I understand that's how they do it... but WHY? *facepalm* :dunno:

It's a law here too but nobody enforces it except for cops in the middle of nowhere towns that don't have anything better to do than hassle people over stupid crap.

Speaking of hassling people...Chknfker...Just doing their jobs? really? REALLY? I totally understand why they stopped you, but once they established that you were not drunk didn't have a shotgun they should have left you alone. All that time/money/resources they wasted on hassling you could have been spent finding the real person who had taken "riding shotgun" a little too seriously. It's no wonder that when I dial 911 now-a-days I have to wait 10 minutes for them to call me back, and then wait 3 hours for an officer to finally show up.

Cops are just regular people...as a result, they are JUST AS STUPID as your average American. Giving people that dumb a badge and a gun is a surefire way to send things downhill. Of course you do have people like Jim that became cops that I have nothing but respect for but they are the vast minority. Every single cop I've ever had to deal with has been nothing like that. I'm at the point now where I refuse to even be on the same road as a cop, if I see one behind me I'll pull off the road and pretend I have to make a phone call or look for something I dropped. I don't want to be the victim of their boredom.

The only time I've been pulled over in one of my trucks was for window tint on my old Ranger about 10 years ago. I'd had tint on all my cars for over 10 years and never had a problem although I know it's illegal in PA. At some point the cops decided to start enforcing it. I got a "fix it ticket", meaning that as long as I showed up at the police station within three days to show them the tint was removed, I didn't have to pay a fine.

I did get a photo radar speeding ticket in my Sport Trac in Bristol, TN last year. Been there for the drags and NASCAR both, they have a lot of red light and speed cameras. My GPS sounds a warning when you approach one but we don't have them where I live, so I'm not used to listening for it.

I cant even remember. About a dozen 12 tickets, between my ranger and my mustang.

The dumbest, IMO, is:

** Speeding 1 mph over in a 20 mph school zone. No deferred adju. since it was a school zone.

WHAT?!!

Yea, that whole "5 mph buffer" ain't true. Speeding is apparently speeding.

I've heard of a uniformed off duty officer being pulled over for 2 over not in a school zone

Ridiculous, wouldnt you agree? I guess since I was clean, he had to get me for something. Some pigs just don't care and don't like you.

My father was a Deputy Sheriff. I've met quite a few of them.

NOTE: It was rude for me to refer to all cops as pigs. Pigs are the assh*le ones that are obnoxious when they pull you over. I'm a 28 yr old non-smoker that's a courteous driver with tags up to date that even more polite when pulled over; leave me alone and don't frisk me because you think I've got marijuana on my person. That air freshener dangling from my rear view is not intended to mask those odors.

Argh.

I havn't gotten pulled over in either of my Bronco IIs. I guess this has troubles keeping up...

Yeah it's nuts...

That's the plan anyway! We've got one asshole cop here, no-one likes him, not even anyone on the force. You don't get anywhere in life being an asshole, especially in a job like that.

Never in my Ranger, but I got a ticket for riding my bicycle through a stop sign. At ~8:00Pm, In roughly 35 deg F weather. Got frisked - the whole nine yards. It was close to a $5000 Pinarello bike back in the '80's. Took it to court and the cop never showed.

Being an owner of an over built 1277cc sportbike, I have had a few good ones.

125 in a 35, 250 bucks in fines and no school. Thanks to a lawyer friend with friends.
97 in a 55 leaving a toll plaza. Erased thanks to a lawyer wife with friends.
Reckless driving for lane splitting during a horrendous traffic mess. Ticket issued by the DEC. LOL No fine. Thrown out since he wasn't "trained" in traffic.

And the grand-daddy. 178mph in a 45 zone. Showing some little shit in a turbo civic that he can't impress his girlfriend racing my bike. $1500 total cost. No points, traffic school, and 80 hours community service. I did that ironically enough helping at a DMV sponsored riding course. lol

Speeding, lots of speeding. Sometimes i get lucky and just get a firm talking to, sometimes i'm not so lucky. The fastest one i got away with i was doing 97 in a 55. Got pulled over by a county cop, i just so happen to be on a first name basis with him. He leans in the window, gets nose to nose with me and says "slow the f*** down!" and walked away.

Once i was in the wrong place at the wrong time and got pulled over, couldn't have been going over 5 over the limit on a state highway. When i get pulled over the cop stays back a good 100' with his car. A few minutes go by and three more cars show up. They block the road from both directions, then all 8 officers step out, 6 of them with pistols drawn, the other 2 with shotguns.

One of the pistol toting donut eaters pulls out a megaphone and has me stick me hands out the window. Goes through all the "with this hand do this, with that hand do that" bull shit. Once out of the truck i had to lift my shirt and do a 360 for them. Finally they tell me to walk backwards with my hands above my head till they say stop. They never said stop. I took about 10 steps back before my face met the pavement and i had a knee in my back.

Went for a ride sitting on my cuffed hands on a plastic bench. Had my picture and most of my clothes taken. Slept in the holding cell for about 6 hours. Ended up getting released without any charges.

Turned out someone called in about a pickup truck driving around shooting a shotgun out the window.

97 in a 55 and he just warns you? Around here a deputy would get fired for that because all traffic stops are on dash cameras and these videos are reviewed weekly. I don't buy that.

You don't deserve a drivers license. Somehow common sense tells me you are just telling stories to get attention.

Okay, now I gotta list my Ranger's rap sheet.

#1: Pulled over for not having a current inspection sticker on my truck. It was a few days after I had bought it and had a 20-day plate on. I had all my paperwork (bill of sale, title transfer slip, and temp reg) with me. The officer apologized for the inconvience and admititted it was her mistake.

#2: Pulled over for speeding (55 in a 40 and on a LOOOOOONG off-ramp) and didn't have my registration with me. I was out job hunting and the officer gave me a written warning for the no reg.

And my LUCKIEST break:

#3: Pulled over for doing a legit 15 over (70 in a 55 on new asphalt) in upstate New York by a Sullivan county sherrif. He let my off with a verbal warning with what could've been an easy $400 ticket. I should've bought him a beer.
