Hi Folks....

It seems two Rangers have followed me home. a 1983 2.3, auto, runs like a top, needs a nose and floor boards.

A 1986 2.5, 5sp stick. It came with a spare Toyo Koygo 5 speed OD tranny.
Poor thing, Bubba has had his way with it. Except for the windshield, the body is in good shape. The running gear, not so good.

The engine started life as a 2.5 EFI, but somewhere along the way, someone thought it would run much better with a 1977 Holley 5200 bolted on top the EFI manifold. The inside of the radiator looks like a chocolate bar was melted inside. It had two different spark plugs in it. Standard FoMoCo plugs in the back two holes, and full threaded lawn mower plugs in the front two holes!
The Solenoid is hanging off the fender, when its been torn loose from.

There is not a dry spot for the hydraulic clutch assy, sure glad I got a good trans in the sale. The entire system needs replaced.

Oh yeah, I paid $300 for the pair :icon_hornsup:

Welcome to TRS :)

Don't know whether to pat you on the back with a happy smile or sympathetic head nod

Nothing like having a project...or two.... to help you with time management.

Picture of that carb mounting would be desktop background material.

Welcome to the suck. Hehe.

Been cursing my ’92 ever since I bought it earlier this year. If it makes you feel any better, you’re starting off with 1200 bucks more in your pocket for your initial investment than I spent. Just think of all the cool sh@t you can buy now! And all the cursing you can do when you have to install it! And all the mind-altering beverages (or whatever) you can buy to try to forget about it!!

I wish you the very best of luck with things. Hope you end up with a real keeper in the end. :icon_thumby:

Well, can’t say I haven’t been there, lol. Welcome to the club!

Was gonna post the pic, but it seems ya just cant upload it, and Im too lazy to put it in photobucket.

Oh these are NOT projects. The 86 will be my daily driver, and the 83 will be parts, unless someone wants it. I may not even make the 300 mile round trip to go get it.

My project is a 79 Suburban, all 6000lbs of it. The Ranger is a tinker toy, A Pinto with a box. Without the crappy frontend. These have mini twin I beams under them.

DON'T USE PHOTOBUCKET!!!
They have burnt their bridges and are not a welcome picture host site. Hopefully you didn't pay the $400.00 ransom demand.
You can load pics into your "Pictures and Albums" section inside your "User CP". Make sure they aren't too big or they won't load.

Dang, that was way easier, thanks

FYI: The pic is my daughter, she has a degree in advanced automotive, and works for a Mercedes dealership. She needs to go to work for Ford, so Dad can get parts!

Wait. Your profile picture is your daughter? Well, I’m going to be real respectful here and just say that she is one very beautiful young lady (obviously, pretty darn talented too, with that degree). Nice job, dad. :icon_thumby:
