What fluid gives best shift quality in 5 speed trans?

What brand or type of fluid do you guys use in your 5 speed manual trans that gives you the best shift quality?

The one it was designed for. Read your owners manual. Probably Mercon ATF.

If your transmission is damaged, no fluid will fix that.

Brand is irrelevant. They are all the same.

Just remember if your clutch isn't fully disengaging, hard shifting will be a symptom.

Any ATF fluid that meets the "Mercon" spec.

Don't use "Mercon V" though unless your trans specifically calls for it (in spite of what Ford and others say, it is not fully compatible)
