What does this do? Is it important?

Reminds me of the neighbors geo prizm he put a remote start on it..... It use to run into the trees out back every so often.

So Chrysler basically just has one remote starter for all their stuff. Last shop I was at we had a policy that if it wasn't an OEM Ford remote start system it got removed from a used car during lot check.

Had a Ram come in with a MOPAR remote start. Guy working next to me drives a Neon. He grabs it, ignores the big yellow sticker telling him not to install on anything with a manual transmission, puts it in the Neon.

About two weeks later he is messing with the reverse lights, leaves it in gear, goes to wash his hands, leans on the button, and remote starts the car through the door and into a lifted F-150 with a 6 inch drop hitch.

Boss said his car wasn't allowed inside the shop for anything, even state inspection, until that remote start unit got removed.
