have found a 1990 single cab for parts. still have 2 driver side bolts to pull to get it free.
i will pull the remaining door to lighten the load (didn't know power windows were an option) and hood. seats, other door and fenders are gone already.
how many guys does it take to carry a cab? i may have to get some work buddies to help out for beer.
option 2 is to crib it up off the frame, then come-along it. naturally, it is the wreck furthest from the driveway and there are several other 'jewels' in the way

A single cab you could lift with two or three strong people...with doors, seats, and hood removed.

I lifted my extended cab with the help of three other guys and we put 2x4 saw horses under it and it didn't break the saw horses. If you have to carry it any distance that can be done but it would be better to have six guys so you could switch out on the fly...

Oh, and I forgot to mention I have no idea how much they weigh...but I would guess a single cab weighs about 300 lbs with glass and dash inside.

I lifted a super cab with doors, glass, and front clip except the hood and grille in place, but no interior. It took 6 guys, two of whom were not particularly strong.

The other day I followed a stripped 1980's half ton dodge cab (from firewall back) rolling on two wheel barrows out of u-pull-it. Aside from the general awkwardness of it they seemed to get along ok.

:icon_rofl:

I thought of that myself...fortunately I was able to use the rolling frame to move mine around...:yahoo:

Ha ha carried a 70s ford single cab with 4 people like 10-11 yards and we arent that strong just determined. Also use gloves the bottoms of cabs are sharp

Sent while eating tacos

well, i had to go it alone. come-alonged the rolling frame off a dead dodge van to where i could dismount the cab (a bitch cause the motor was still in it and i had only a floor jack and a pile of dunage). more come-along work, anchored to a kia suv. then i could reach it with a line to my truck to pull it to where i could get it on the trailer.
now the trailer and cab sit in the yard beside the truck it is going to go on. just hoping the nearby oak tree doesnt come down in the hurricane. now have no truck to tow them out. we are already getting strong wind and rain from irma.
