What do you think of silver exterior rangers ?

Pros.. silver doesn't show dirt or scratches as easily as other colors

Con.. it's the most boring color on earth for a lot of vehicles. It's like... eating unbuttered, unsalted mashed potatoes that were boiled in unsalted water.

Very..... bland.

add some blue, a little chrome, cab lights, nice wheels & silver isnt so bad.

@Gary DuBois
There are 2 vehicle colors that I avoid like the plague but only because they are the hardest to see in daylight, silver and lt blue; both colors are almost the color of the sky or the horizon line, making them more difficult to see.

I like the color, I hate what it does to clear coat. The sun seems to burn clear coat on silver faster than any other color. Just need to be extra diligent about keeping it waxed to protect and save the clear coat.

It's pretty much been said. Silver is great for hiding dirt and scratches but is a boring color.

Another downside is that silver and gray can blend in to the back ground in a lot of situations. One of the worst ones is when it raining quite a bit. Once over spray builds up on the side mirrors and the back window, silver and gray can be very hard to see. That is one of the reasons the headlights on when it's raining thing became a law.

Cons: Boring and stupid common

Perk: Doesn't show dirt as bad

I dd a silver F-150, it is stupid common looking to the point my wife has walked up to the wrong truck when eat out. Given my druthers I would rather have a tan color but Ford is very big into the "any color you want as long as it is gray" thing unless you get a Raptor or a fancy Bronco.

I agree somewhat that silver doesn't show dirt and i disagree because i see alot of scratches in my silver paint.

Why do you think silver is a boring color and i know that bland flavor your talking about now that flavor is boring and not enjoyable.

I have alot of chrome on my ranger and the cab lights i think should only be on semi trucks. I love my nice wheels and i love my silver frost metallic color.

I would like to see pictures on your daily driver silver F-150. I think gray is a alright color for a vehicle.

Because it is by far the most common color on the road.

I don't mind it, it looks like a polished billet of metal when it is clean... my truck has clones everywhere though.

Your f-150 year and cab size has maybe the number most popular color.

A con for me with silver color ford trucks is that the silver exterior and chrome wheels are to close and similar in color so it looks boring with those 2 colors of silver and chrome.

Funny thing: out my way 1983–2012 Rangers with silver paint are uncommon. Almost every other color is more prevalent. Instead, the dark charcoal gray metallic is a very common color here on Rangers and F-150s, as is white on Rangers that had been work trucks.

I've had a black Mustang since 1990 that looks great for a minute when clean before dust settles on it. I bought a new 99 Taurus and 2011 Focus that were both silver. They looked great with a fresh coat of wax and still looked good after driving to work for a week, including rainy days. I wouldn't pick silver for a show cars but it's my first choice for an everyday driver. White is as hard to keep clean as black and doesn't look anywhere near as good.
