I have a 93 Ranger 4x4 XLT. I am looking at putting a 4" lift on it and was wondering what everyone thought about which brands are good and what to stay away from. If you know of any kits available please let me know. Thanks for the help

I recommend against kits that use plate style drop brackets. For the price, I recommend

When I ordered it was a superlift Kit. If you do decide on superlift, make sure to reinforce the brackets.

Obviously, skyjacker is a much better kit. But for the price, you can't beat that deal.

You probably shouldnt stack blocks in the back. I ended up taking out the stock 2" block, putting in the 3" block, and adding shackles and an add a leaf. Its level for now but its only had a couple hundred miles put on since installation. Ill have to see how much the front springs decide to settle.

You can't go wrong with a skyjacker kit. Although with skyjacker comes the pricetag

Any lift kits for the Ranger are fine. You get what you pay for. If you want budget, get Rough Country. Brackets may not line up properly and if you wheel it hard, it may damage your front diff. If you want quality go for the Skyjacker kit. Best kit money can buy. Superlift is decent too.

I have an 86 with d28 in front and I used the $268.00 ebay/cars.com(aka jc whitney)/rough country kit ,it comes without shocks or drop pitman arm ,so I got the pitman for $53 and the shocks are cheap gas monroe 's that I looked through the buyers guide and found. The reason I mention the d28 is that with a d35 this kit has potential issues but with the d28 I wheel the heck out of this truck with no problems. It did lift the front the full 4 inches with the old springs in the rear about .25" less but hard to beat for the money. It took a good brake tech 6hrs. total by himself with lift and air tools and it turned out GREAT,I have lots of pics but need more help than just "put them on photobucket" -I am 47 and not great with computers-HELP,MR.WIZARD!

not to contradict here, but i hit my diff (d28) many times when i had my RC lift on. swapped for a skyjacker and i'm happy. like they said, you get what you pay for.
