My truck needs a new 7.5 rear axle so I called down to the local scrap yard and found a complete one for 150 bucks pumpkin and all! Is this a good deal? no other junk yards around have them.. which seems hard to believe. also did the xlt BII's have abs? Ive never done an axle swap before but from what ive heard and read its super easy to do a rear, so any tips or pointers would be appreciated!

Just swap to an 8.8....be stronger and more readily available for probably the same price. Make sure to ask for the e-brake cables to come with the axle.

Yes to an 8.8. with a 4:10. You will love it and it will be strong..

Yeah you can do the swap...you just need a welder, a new driveshaft, and probably new brakes.
