ok kool.is that a good axle or is that bad.
thanks for the help

It's a pretty good axle, but it depends what you want to use it for. It's not quite as strong as the 31 spline 8.8 and doesn't have quite the aftermarket, but it's stronger than the 7.5 axle. What are your plans for the truck?

It's a good axle. Very reliable and easy to work on. It can handle 33s and a locker just fine. You can run a set of 5.13 gears as well.

The 8.8 is substantially stronger however, fairly close in strength to a 9". If you want to run 35s or higher it's a good idea to upgrade.

7.5 and 27 splined 8.8 are pretty similar in strength because the axles are basically the same. The 31 spline 8.8 is very comparable to a 9" once the stock carrier is replaced. That said, I have the same 27 spline 8.8 you have and I've been running 36" TSL's, 4.56's and a locker for years now with no breakage.

I should have clarified that I was referring to the 31 spline 8.8, not the 28 spline 8.8, which I think you're talking about. They never made a 27 spline 8.8 to my knowledge.
