My little red 04 stepside got a baby brother for christmas, a 2024 stx 2wd in grey.

32.5k +ttlfor 36 miles on it, out the door.

No 4x4 or heated this or that, just a truck that surprised me with the gas mileage it got versus the maverick. Took the exact route and speeds with both, ranger first, amd the ranger got 5mpg better with no road noise snd softer more comfy suspension.

Haven't gotten them yet, but I'll be ordering a new Motorcraft thermostat and temperature sending unit from Rock Auto shortly. The temperature gauge began reading a bit below normal when warmed up a couple of weeks ago. The engine runs fine and the interior has good heat. If I drain coolant and take apart the thermostat housing to install one part, might as well install the other.

Well my truck got a temporary license tag and some insurance.
Was able to really drive it since I got it.

The ranger is my 15yo son's, but it got a new cylinder head and gaskets, a tool box and a bunch of roadside safety stuff for the toolbox. He also got a few ranger related things like a metal sign that says "ford truck parking only", and T-shirts that say "warning, I might randomly start talking about my truck" or something like that....

Well, looks as though replacing the sensor will have to wait. Everything is in the way and I can't get clearance to pull out the old sensor. Looks as though I'll have to remove the upper intake manifold to get access. My gut says leave it alone for now since the truck is running all right.

My Ranger got some new off road lights. Now that I got the 6 gang switch in there, next project is putting cube lights behind the hood, which my Ranger also got for Christmas

I would like to put B-series 15" SE alloy wheels on mine. Some of the Rangers came with the same wheels. It's just a matter of finding a set in good condition for the right price. I would take the 16" alloy wheels if I could find a set of those. I see refurbished wheels online for around $200+ a $50 core. That's expensive to begin with, plus I don't have a core to return.

I have the silver steel wheels. The dust from the semi-metalic brake pads ruined the finish on them.
