What did YOU do today?

I got to shovel snow. Somehow our “dusting to an inch” turned into about 6”. Guess it’s going to be one of those years. Tomorrow I’m heading out to get some steel A-panels for my shop.

I think I just paid $2.279/gal. Local is $3.09 and up though. I took advantage of being out of town, lol.

I live about 2 miles from where the pipelines come into Atlanta, and gas around here is about $2.80. 30 miles up the road where the cute little brunette lives, which means they have to truck the gas another 30 miles, it’s $.40 less. Explain that one to me

Duh, reasons! Seriously though it's all about location, on my commute the lowest price is $3.23 which I paid yesterday, drove through Salem which had a low of $3.05 (should have waited, oh well) on my way to friends house but their town had $3.45 for cheapest... pretty sure it's about demand and flow, higher demand areas go through more so the price is lower, takes longer to get the lower demand areas to catch up... when on the increase cycle the low demand areas seem to be slower to increase as well...

Last night just went to a friends house, only like 5 of us since my wife got a cold... mild night, home around 2am...

Slept forever this morning, that was great but left me with little time to do stuff... pulled out my chronograph and checked out a few pellet guns to see if they're doing what I thought, couple shooting slower than I expected so will tweak those, couple shoot hotter than expected so they're fine, with their moderators they're quiet enough and trajectory flat enough to do what I want... Other than that general shop cleanup so I can keep working on projects...

Lots of factors go into it. Location and taxes play a big part, PA has one of the highest gas taxes in the country. More rural areas near the border with Ohio is 3.09 and Cranberry TWP with all the yuppies is 3.45, local is around 3.29, but Ohio has 2.27-2.39 in the places I was. All within 50 miles of home.

Checked out Scooter's new Ranger Raptor. Man this thing is awesome. Even the best color in my opinion

We see that here as well. It's about $3.09 on average on the Western side and Southern side (the river runs North until it makes a turn to the West above Center Twp).

Meanwhile, on the Eastern side of the river, it looks to be about $0.04 cheaper.

North of the Ohio River, I haven't really paid attention and don't regularly venture that far.

In Allegheny County, around the Moon Twp area, the prices tend to be about the same as here in the Aliquippa area.

In New Castle, while I was up there for the Automotive Technician job interview, prices seemed to be a little cheaper than prices in Beaver or Allegheny County.

The only thing I can attribute the differences too, is local tax levels.

I guess I'll be getting my fuel in New Castle once I start going up there on a regular basis.
