A little upgrade to my computer.

Old vs New GTX950 2GB to RX6700 XT 12GB

The color matching wasn't intentional, but kinda cool. I bought Sapphire because I've long heard they're the most reliable AMD builder. Good thing I didn't get the 3 fan model.

Today we’re celebrating Lincoln’s fourth anniversary with me! Gosh, it seems like yesterday. I can’t do a birthday because I don’t know when he was born, he was about 10 months old, more or less, when I got him four years ago today.

I got him a hoodie from when he runs around in the yard without his leash when I’m working on the trucks or the house. He seems to like it, and I love it because it keeps him warm, it’s nice and snug.

Not so happy when I first put it on, I don’t think he was used to having the little sleeves

When we were outside, I realized the drawstring was too long. He would run, step on it, and do a nose dive. We went back in the kitchen and trimmed that up.

Now it fits great - warm, snug, and attractive

But he’s not too impressed with the hood part of it

My son and his g/f came over to exchange Christmas presents. This is the year they go to her folks for the holidays in Buffalo. He got me a bunch of Italian cooking ingredients from an Italian store in Pittsburgh. The good imported stuff. So we know what's for dinner tonight.
The Steelers aren't playing until 4:25 so.....
Got a new flexible downspout for the house at Lowe's to replace the torn one and climbed up a ladder with a screwdriver and cordless drill to put it on. I have two pair of downspouts for the back of the house, the summer set go into rain barrels with a pump attached because, you know, I wash my vehicles a lot.
TheRangerStation.com windshield banner on the truck hasn't held up well in the cold weather so I got on a step stool with a heat gun and removed what was left of it.

The Escape is back at it again. It looks like the radiator this time. Time to tear apart the front end again. The A/C condenser, radiator, and turbo intercooler have to be dropped as a unit from underneath to change the radiator. I hope I can get the car high enough up in the air with jack stands for everything to clear...

Oof… I don’t know if it’s possible, but I know when the rad went in mom’s 02 Explorer and I discovered that the rad, AC condenser and trans cooler were all linked as a unit, I got creative and managed to separate them and pull just the rad out the top, then I re-worked things so I didn’t have as much trouble if I had to do it again

Tonight I found old episodes of Starsky & Hutch on Tubi. Great stuff.

Thanks for sharing that. I've got one of the streaming devices in the living room, and pretty sure Tubi is installed on it, but haven't used it much. Now I've got something to look for on there.



Wasn't today, still at work. Yesterday I started patching the house floor. First patch cut and dropped into place.

Not bad for a first attempt. I'd almost even happy with it, but for two problems.

First problem is the cut on the far side of this pic managed to land right beside a floor joist. Manufactured home and joist spacing isn't perfect. That edge of the patch is hanging in the open, so I'm going to scab on another section of 2x to the existing joist to support that side.

Second I thought that the existing floor measured at about 3/4 inch. I grabbed a sheet of 23/32 since that's the closest that they sell. Turns out that the existing floor is closer to 5/8" so the patch sticks up almost 1/16 proud of the rest. Taking a chunk of what I cut out to the store after work to see if I can find a better match. If I don't I'll be finding a way to blend this out and make it work.

In better news, I found a/the leak and it is not the radiator. At least not as this point. The other heater hose, with an assembly line quick disconnect is leaking right above the transmission cooler. So, I'm going to go after that and hope that is all that it is. There is coolant on the cooler and it was dripping down the back of the engine on to the undercover, dissipating it enough that it hasn't been reaching the ground in an identifiable way. I just have to wait for Jessica to get home from work so I can drive up to the Advance in Beaver Falls to get it. They are the only ones close by that have one in stock. Thankfully, it doesn't look like I need to tear a bunch of stuff to replace it like I did with the other hose. I still had to remove the windshield cowl and air filter box but, I've done those so many times at this point, I can do those really quick. I just need to go out and drain the system now that I found a leak.

As far a as separating from the top, the same amount of work would need to be done and things are so tightly clipped together, it might be worse than just dropping the assembly. The setup was designed to be dropped, because only technicians in a shop would be working on it, right?

The locker in the Choptop has resulted in some interesting handling…

Also I stopped at Paul’s and his main freezer apparently froze. So now I have 12# of burger, his neighbor has 6#, and he has 20# to cook within the next two days. Plus his door knob to the garage broke when I went to leave…
