What did YOU do today?

Repaired the 30A 240V electrical supply wire to my place ( RV ). Its a temporary wire that was buried about 6" because of traffic. The other tenant was clearing snow and severed it where frost had pushed it to the surface. Luckily I was able to pull enough to join the 2 ends in a junction box. Used lots of grease meant for wiring because this is not protected from the weather. Screwed the box to a 2x6 and then another 2x6 on top. Then made sure that there is a post indicating where the box is as well as caution tape showing where the wire isn't buried.

while rummaging around under the work bench I came across these.
been there for at least 30, maybe 35 years. were on the shelf with 460/429 parts. that never made it into a '78 Bronco

Dang... that's the pre oxygen sensor safe red stuff. I always hated that crap.

Mostly swore about the weather.

3 Below when I got to work 🙄 already sick and tired of winter. Pretty sure the news was saying this has (so far) been the coldest December on record up here in the past 2 decades.. and I believe it.

As long as we don't have a 2 week stretch of 10 to 20 below zero like we did last winter... I'll be happy.

I hope everyone's been enjoying life and had a quality Thanksgiving!

Looked at my body mounts and tried to disassemble one. An upcoming major project is going to involve new cab mount bushings and 1" spacers. I had heard these things are a pain to disassemble. And, even without severe rust, they are a PITA. So, I invented a tool to pull them apart. Tech article / How-to coming soon.

Re-purposed/ modified an old bed mounting bolt.

Made a puller body.

Assembled, add a wrench to hold the bottom nut and ready to use next time I get a chance.

At lunch I picked up a box of wall texture, tonight my brother came over and we painted the walls in the shop office then sprayed on texture on the walls and ceiling, what a mess but it's done (I masked the complete floor yesterday so it's good there...). Tomorrow or Thursday night I should be able to paint the walls and ceiling and be done with that portion, then baseboards and I'll be able to start moving stuff in! That'll be nice.
