What did YOU do today?

Cut up a 97 Ranger for scrapping bc no one seems to need any of the parts.

Daaaamn, kept forgetting about the driver's belt buckle.

30$ sound fair with shipping?

This is the style I need.

Well…

Everything for the brush hog that I’ve ordered so far except the lower seal showed up today…

Blade bolts, a pair and correct (I was a little worried, most of the bolt “sets” were actually one bolt/washer/nut rather than a pair of them. Not entirely wrong to call it a set at one bolt/washer/nut, but a little misleading because you need a pair if you have to replace everything.)

Over-run clutch. Looks like what I need, 1-3/8” 6-spline with a quick connect, not a pin. Thankfully the previous owner of my tractor switched it from the original 1-1/8” 6-spline to the modern 1-3/8” 6-spline, so check.

New heavy duty stump jumper. It’s got some beef to it. Diameter… check. Blade bolt spacing… check. 12-spline to the output on the brush hog? Yup. Does it fit? Nope… it appears the splines on my output are wider than the grooves that are cut in this thing…

So now I have to either return it and try ordering something else or see if I can find someone to cut the splines wider…

@lil Blue Ford

Is it Brush Hog or Bush Hog? I've heard it both ways and it makes absolutely zero difference in how the world turns, but I thought I could see what the prevailing winds say. I'm from the south and I've always heard it referenced as the latter.
I have King Kutter rotary cutter, but I've always referenced it as a bush hog - brand name not withstanding.:icon_confused:

I spent the day on an extension ladder scraping the sealer off the gable on the east side of the rumblecloud ranch. Tomorrow it'll be the same on the west side. Every couple of years I need to go around the joint and check all the logs for dry rot and pealing sealer and replace as needed. Not as much fun as it used to be.

So technically, it’s kind of like Kleenex…

Brush Hog is a brand. Everything else is a “rotary cutter” so by rights I should be calling it a rotary cutter since mine is a Howse brand. I think the “bush hog” is just a common mistake and/or a different attempt to differentiate from the brand “Brush Hog.”

At least that’s my understanding at this point…

Brush Hog brand just spelled it wrong. 😂

No criticism, but I think that’s backwards

The rear differential gear oil got changed on the 2019 after it got up on ramps and jack stands. The transmission fluid and filter came in yesterday, so I wanted to get the truck up so as to make the process easier for that and the gear oil.

The hood struts got replaced as well. The OGs only barely hold the hood up in warm weather, which is inconvenient and causes trust issues.

I also made the neighbors unhappy by burning some weeds and dead branches in the fire pit.

I got the transmission fluid and filter changed on the 2019 and finished flushing the brake lines since the brake fluid I ordered came in. I just have to finish the work on changing the belts and going after the oil leak while the belts and pulley is off. Oh, the tool to hold the pulley still came in so I can get the clutch fan off.
