While under the F350 I think I figured out why it's pulling to the passenger side a little... the inner pad on the drivers side is down to steel and wore into the rotor... conveniently I bought new rotors when Advance was clearancing things... I don't remember if I got pads or not but that's cheap/easy enough...

Flooded streets are quite common down south, so I added an extended diff vent-tube w/filter. Changed the fluid while I was at it...good thing, was slightly tan.

Need to do the same to the front differential.

Ended up on the tractor mowing for a while, found the whining on the finish mower, the gearbox was 1/2 quart low on oil, I think a bearing didn't like that, it's still making noise but also one of the blades is cutting a bit crooked so might be a spindle bearing instead... it ended up blowing the belt so we'll deal with whatever I find when I get to that this winter . Took that off and hooked up a spring tooth cultivator to deal with some agressive weeds where I tilled in the spring then switched to a scraper and harrow to try to flatten it out but that was a pain since the weeds were plugging everything up... switched to the brush hog to mow the piles of weeds... The wife is sick so I think I'm going to end up doing the giant pile of dishes from the whole week...

The sportsmans club had fishing derby for the kids. I showed up to help setup, miscellaneous stuff in between, and tear down after the event was done.

I also got more angle cut and fitted to the platform. I have two more pieces then I can move on to adjusting the halves to center and bolting them to the drawer box before removing them so I can mount the slide for the refrigerator and the steel angle iron pieces for the divider to hold equipment in place. I'm hoping to get all of that done by Monday so I can get to the pre-trip preventative maintenance I want to do. I'm approaching 100,000 miles and I want to get those completed before the trip. And it will give me some items to have as spares just in case the new items aren't good items.

Worked on my trailer. Didn't get to cutting with th plasma yet. I had a robins nest with 3 chicks beside my place. They decided to leave the nest today. One decided to do quality control on my trailer.

While I was mowing earlier I lost one of the rubber things that holds the seat up on my tractor, of course they're extremely hard to find, I looked a bit and found one whole place that sells them out of europe for 14 euros plus whatever shipping would be... so I made the executive decision and put a 2x4 in place of the two of them... mowed for hours after that and didn't notice any difference so I'm not worried anymore, hopefully the one will show up at some point though...

(Late last night but close enough) ordered all the parts to replace the front struts in my girlfriend's Explorer.

Today I tried to prolong the inevitable and changed the transmission fluid in a friend's 2015 grand caravan with a failing 62TE transmission. I had serviced it about 20k ago with a new filter and the recommended fluid. Checked the level during the last oil change and it was darker than the engine oil but not burnt. Pulling the pan revealed lots of very fine glitter and clutch material present in the pan, on the magnet, and the filter. Hopefully it holds together long enough for some money to be saved for a replacement...

Got my fishplate cut & shaped to fit super nice in the frame rail (will be putting a radius on the corners). Step bit decided to take a dump on me though which brought all progress to a screaming halt I need to make 3 of these holes one measely step bigger... And the damn bit decided to smoke that step on me while drilling the 2nd hole... I was even using plenty of lube whatever. They're just HF bits so.. not much to be expected I suppose.. and at least they're cheap enough.

Roughly 100 today so my friends planned to float the river on innertubes, successful enough for me, good time... got home a few minutes ago, still hot... might try to get something done but likely nothing worth noting...

was quite a day, it’s unusual for me to plan a project, get all the materials & finish it all in the same day. Built a ramp for my daughter, she still has at least 6 weeks to go with that broken hip, my parents got her one of those electric mobility scooters & she was in need of a ramp for the back of the house. Looked like it needed to be 10’. A quick search on fleabay & scamazon revealed that aluminum would be super expensive so friday I took some measurements & thought it over saturday, didn’t put pencil to paper until this morning. Saw the yard needed mowed again & not wanting to run up the electric bill I loaded the trailer with the generator and a zero-turn mower in addition to the lumber , tools in the back of the escape. Took the awd as I still haven’t gotten my front suspension figured out, its worse when towing & the V6 definitely handles a loaded trailer better. Was 90 out today but was loaded up & heading back south by 7:00. I used shingles for a gritty traction surface, thats the way to do roofing, on the ground! my Knees are feeling it though. I usually like for sunday to be a “day of rest”. maybe the next one. lol

Sounds like a good day. Need to get where I can go do stuff like that again. Mostly find a local group to do it with. Kind of difficult to put in and float down river by yourself, unless ytou plan to paddle up river and float back down. The rivers around here are a little too rocky or moving too fast to try and do that. Some portaging is fine when going down, but can get rough when trying to go up and back.

There is finally enough progress to show some pictures. The deck still needs some hardware to fasten it to the drawer box but it is together enough to mock up the refrigerator slide and the dividers for holding the equipment vertical. It also gives me a reference point so I can order L track to provide flexible tie down locations for the rest of the equipment that don't have a specific "home".

I put new pet screen in the sliding screen door because one of my cats ripped the bottom corner to use it as a pet door. The lock/latch thinger on the screen door was missing and it took about five minutes for my cats to figure out that they could slide the door open. I attempted to fix the latch thinger so I can lock it so they can't slide it open and get out.

As soon as I'm out processed for retirement, I need to start working on that stuff. I wonder how many years it will take to get all the issues through the process?

if you are going to do your outprocessing now, they should send you to the doc during your out-processing so everything gets documented to the va. but make sure and list everything when you go to sick call, go over everything you can remember.

some va claims go through in 6 weeks or less and some take years if they get denied and then the appeal gets denied and you have to get a lawyer and go to the va judge, like i had to do. my longest claim, that went to the judge, took a little over 4 years to get approved, though you get backpaid to the initial claim date so you get a lump sum check taht can be huge. some guys here are work got 100k. mine was 35k and after the lawyer got her parts, i got 28k
