What did YOU do today?

A lot of trees had to die to build that house.

I would have gone with a mini split instead of cutting through all that.

Thought about it, but this does the same thing for a quarter or 1/6th the price. Plus, if it ever needs replaced while I’m here…… I just slide it out the bracket and slide in the new one.

Got the tire off the tractor but still next to it then went to HFT to get a fluid extractor and drill pump to take advantage of the current sale. Tomorrow the new tube should show up so I'll try to extract the fluid before then, depending on my energy level might try to break the beads tonight but maybe tomorrow...

Also went to my friends house where he's working on making an RC track, he has crawlers and my brushless Rustler doesn't do that stuff, also working on an oval which is more it's game but that's not done yet... I helped work on the perimeter...

After I got home I attempted to drain the rest of the fluid out of the tractor tire, filled up 3 5 gallon buckets and still have almost 2 gallons in the extractor... there's still like a gallon in the thing but I can't get it out which is fine... I dropped it to the ground at that point to break the beads, the inner one was easy, the outer one does NOT want to budge, I wailed on it with the duck billed hammer (just a small short handled one), I don't know where my bead breaker chisel is... after hitting the wheel a few times, blowing out the dirt and rust from the bead, wailing more, adding soapy water I gave up and went inside and ordered one of those screw jack bead breaker things... it'll be a good thing to have at camp on wheeling trips anyway...

Installed the A/C units today since there is a heat warning for my area for the next week. Other than that I stayed cool and in the house. The high Temperatures really do bother me so it's safer to hide inside than be out in it. All outdoor activitys are canceled till its cooler outside, like at night.

Well, engine and transmission got stabbed together on the F-150. Was the usual difficult pain in the butt to get them mated. Finally got it close for the umpteenth time, hooked a ratchet strap through the inspection port and ran it under the front axle and to my farm tractor in front of it. Tensioned it up good and then went under to wiggle things around and it shot right into place. Wish I would have thought to try that sooner. Got 5 of 6 bellhousing bolts finger tight, the last bolt is currently MIA. I’ll find it, shouldn’t have gone far. Probably in one of my piles of stuff when I threw stuff somewhere to get it out of the rain. Gonna bleed the clutch before I get too crazy putting things back together just because.

Went out to the hobby shop and picked up some 20wt shock oil to try in the crawler to soften the suspension. If this is still to thick I'll try 15wt oil. I also grabbed some double sided tape to attach some receivers and speed controls.

After the hobby shop I hit up the parts store and got all the fluids to do the timing chain and oil pan. Tried to use the book to look up the oil filter but their book only goes to 2002. Well that's no help for a '94 but snagged a WIX filter, part number is 51516 for the 3.0l btw, since it will have the pan off might as well change the filter also.

I got the picnic table back together and brushed the final coat of stain on it. It and the benches are back on the back porch again.

My annual training pay deposited today and the 2019 needs new shoes. With any luck, they will have the tires in stock (not holding my breath). So, I'll be taking the steel rims with me to get mud tires.

Got some.. well spun propaganda in the mail 🙄😋 Addressed to myself "or current resident"

damn thing has just as many pages as the average murder mystery novel.. whoever's pulling the strings on this one is certainly financially committed.. seems pretty pricey to be mailing a buncha random Joe's whole ass books lol.

Decided I wanted to go on a motorcycle ride this afternoon. Went to a historical site nearby that has old cabins, a working water powered mill, petroglyphs, etc. Watched a blacksmith for a short while and found out he teaches classes there. So I came home and signed up for a beginners blacksmithing class on July 3. Yee-haw! Let's heat some stuff up and beat on it with hammers.

That'll be super fun, we expect pictures of whatever you end up making!

I hear beating on things with hammers can be very therapeutic for some.

I fiddled with my RC car some and did house work since it is in the 90's here in the mountains of Ma., boy I'm glad I installed the A/C's the other day. I didn't get to play with my toys because when I was done with everything it started to rain... Now its muggy also 🥵. I need to remember to grab a few gallons of distilled water for the truck for when I do the timing chain and cover.

Today I took a road trip. Not much of a road trip, but enough to know that the GA Summit Racing store has gone down hill and pick up pistons and other parts to drop off at the machine shop. With pistons delivered maybe I'll get the block back to start building the bottom end soon.

Was also surprised by an Amazon delivery. This new Juneteenth holiday thing. It's a federal holiday and federal employees have the day off, so I assumed that postal workers would too.Was not expecting to get an amazon package and normal mail delivery, but it happened. Kind of glad that USPS hasn't gotten on board with it, I'd rather have been at work than have this made up, pointless, activist holiday. Hey at least it gave me the time to drive up and get those parts.

Yes, I understand what the day is supposed to represent, but the date selection makes no sense. The emancipation proclimation was not signed on June 19th. They say that it represents the end of slavery and when the last of the slaves were freed which happened in Texas on June 19th, 1895. That was only true for the former Confederate (southern) states, there was still active slavery on going in the Union (northern) states through December that year. Yep, that's right the north continued to be slave holders for 6 months after all slaves were emancipated in the south. Now think about this, the Emancipation Procilmation was signed into law on January 1st, 1863. If the north was so great with regards to freeing slaves, why did they continue to have slaves for another 3 years? For 6 months past when they forced it on the southern states? That should clue people in on the fact that the civil war and freeing slaves wasn't about slavery, but about crippling the southern states that relied on the practice large part of their economy. I'm not justifying slavery or saying that it didn't need to go away, I just get tired of the brushes people use to paint the whole thing using modern morals and a skewed view of history.

Sorry, I'll get off my soap box now.

For others, they might have to take a body to the airport afterwards. @Gibby6468 your choice of words there left more questions than answers. Bodies... Squishies... Was the body a passenger or luggage? If the latter, did the airport know that the body was in the luggage? Were the squishies more bodies? Do we possibly need to get the kids some psychiatric help?
