What did YOU do today?

I don't really like any of your options... looks like it will be a brawl to swap... not sure how much metal you have to work with to weld especially once you get down to good metal.

BTW your balljoints look thirsty...
Yeah, I’m not sure how well any of it will come apart. I have access to a torch where it’s at. Thinking I’ll see if there’s a good radius arm and try getting it off. If it’s too much of a fight, then I’ll go to welding. Ideally I’ll pull the lower bolt if I weld it and my repair piece will get a hole for the factory bolt and then weld. I’m not about to try to stick the damaged metal back together and try to weld it. There’s a lot of stress that it’s suffered at the break.

A lot of things are thirsty on this thing. If I hadn’t been forced into this hurry-up stuff, it would be largely parked and my dump truck would be fixed. There’s so much bad or going bad on the F-150 that I’m just doing bare minimum to keep it going until the dump truck is fixed. Once the dump truck is good, the F-150 is getting parked until I can rebuild it. I have one more truck I need to move with the F-150. The other one or two vehicles to move I can do with the green Ranger.

The frame is going on the F-150, the cab is shot (I have to get in and out from the passenger side), and everything is tired. I’d rather sink money and effort into the rebuild rather than throw money and time trying to fix it now.

dude, that phone deal sucks

that is exactly my luck. my most memorable cell phone incident was an apply iphone3 i had just gotten and was doing a 50 mile bicycle ride but stopped at a port-a-potty for an emergency stomach issue. got in, pulled off all the cycling junk to "sit" and my stupid phone falls in with everything else that was falling in.

nothing i could do as the valve was already opened. afterwards, i had to walk around and find something to use a liner over my arm to reach in and get the stupid phone out so i could retrieve the card.

sometimes there’s that one story too many that somebody shares because they feel comfortable with the group…

I'm wondering if it takes a slightly different trigger finger technique, considering the trigger on these pull straight back? Everything else I've ever shot has a 'normal' trigger that pivots.

Practice does make perfect though.. and I usually become proficient enough relatively quickly.. after a few more boxes I'm sure I'll be golden

Yeah, if the '150 is just a parts truck I would just try to get it mobile again (probably try to weld the arm) if you need it to be and move on.

Yup, bare minimum until the dump truck is fixed. Then the F-150 gets an upgraded rebuild with a newly used frame and cab. I’m going to long arm the radius arms when I do that.

wire coat hangers. Lots of them. Then, you know, Rustoleum…

We had a mostly dry day yesterday. So, took advantage of the relative dryness to use the shredder vac to clean up the leaves in the yard, emptying the collection bag into the garden as I went. It would be nice if all the leaves dropped before I leave but the Beech in the front yard typically does it's big leaf dump pretty late in the fall. The Silver Maple in the back yard shouldn't be an issue. Though, it does seem that the leaves are dropping a bit early this year for whatever reason. I'll take care of what I can and deal with what I can't in the Spring, unless we have an odd warm snap during the winter.

How about that?

going to be a windy wet day here, Wife has a dr appt then its the weekly grocery trip. Need to pickup some hydraulic oil & change out whats in the tractor, I dont know the last time it was done on that ‘63 but fresh oil is never a bad thing. Then I will probably just hibernate for the weekend, its odd to not have “something on the list” but I seem to be caught up (except for this hydraulic oil change on the tractor) so I will just git-r-dun & enjoy being off my feet for a change.

we have brush set out right now so i am trimming all the trees and hauling all the cuttings to the curb. and since the owner of the lot behind us doesn't live here in Texas, i am trimming the trees on his lot that butt up against my back fence.
and the only reason i am doing that is alot of homeless have been trying to camp there and my dog goes crazy at night because they are moving around and making noise in the field back there.

we offered to buy that empty lot form the people but they said they are going to build low income apartments on it. sure, its a single family size lot in a single family zoned neighborhood. just sell it to me so i can move the back fence to the other end and my wife will be happy.

Drove to one of my favourite watering holes today. Stayed there for over an hour.

that’s what my yard looked like yesterday

Bought a TRS patch and a couple stickers awhile back.. took forever to get the stickers but they did eventually get here a couple weeks ago.

Well.. got home today and found another envelope had been delivered from the sticker people with 2 more stickers! 🤠

So now I got 2 for the Bronco, one for the ranger, and one for my toolbox. Yasss 👍

I finally got around to scrubbing the seats in the 2011. The catalyst was spilling my coffee on the way into to work this morning. So, the seats are now clean and much less stained than they were before.
