What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

My '00 Explorer is apparently pretty clapped out... I really should stop looking at it. I'm talking mostly front suspension wise... had a flat tire on the front passenger side so I investigated that and there's a hole in the tread, swapped on one of my bald spares, while jacked up I shook the tire and it wobbled, wheel bearing... while the tire was off I noticed the sway bar bushing is missing AGAIN! I really need to get rid of this suspension, it was supposed to be done like 9 years ago but ya know... :)
You know, I’ve been working through the suspension and stuff on the Choptop and the ride quality has improved beyond what it was when I first put it together after Farva aka Sherrodwannabeb2 caught the motor on fire and sold it to me. In other words, it’s gotten really nice. Should have gone through it years ago. The single biggest improvement was Rough Country N3 shocks. They’re sold as a pair so the price is reasonable. The only potential annoyance to it all? I now hear my mud tires and they are LOUD apparently. Never could hear them much over all the other noises, lol. Live and learn I guess.

That’ll happen very time. If you’re not using the right rubber, it’ll get the clap.

Today I also fixed my '90 Ranger, since I fixed the front suspension and moved the front axle forward now I hit the front of the inner fender and apparently when I'm using all of the front travel the front tires also hit the front lips of the fenders now and bite into the tires which is annoying... so I took a 3lb drilling hammer and pounded the front lips forward, we'll find out if that's enough or not :)

Whell, I had my Edge relieve the Ranger of its duty of holding down the driveway for an hour or so while I did truck stuff with it and loaded up 20 40 lb bags of mulch at Menards. On sale! About 45 bucks before the 11 percent rebate.

So, what do all of these pictures have in common?

There is a resident 15 year old that is going to find out..

Choptop got an oil change today. Not really noteworthy and didn’t really take any time to do, but it’s done. Other than that was random shop work, fixed a wheelbarrow tire, did some cleaning/organizing and some other stuff.

Love the wheelbarrow. I didn’t know those things came new.

about 60 bucks at Menards. some assembly required. for the last few years i have been looking for a cheap used alternative on Market place/ Nextdoor/ Craigslist... those things are snapped up the instant the ad gets posted or need so much work that I would end up paying almost as much for new parts (the effing wheels are 30 to 40 bucks!) so I gave up and just bought a 6 cubic foot model from Menards. the tub and handles were not in a box, the wheel and other hardware were in a box. instructions for assembly were printed on the inner box flaps in addition to the sheet of paper. easy assembly, no spare parts so I guess i put it together correctly
