What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

If you turn a corner fast enough, that cab will just fall off. Then you can simply install a new one.

yeah....literally was the issue.

Where was this cool stuff when I was a kid? I still want one now.

With enough money, anything is is possible. You could always get something made in an adult size. I'm sure the ladies would love it.

Are those post clamps from Amazon or local sourced? I went out of my way to get brass units and the one I installed lasted a month and broke while parked... and I didn't go super monkey tight on the pinch bolt or anything... I'm hoping they last for you and if they do I want to know what they are! Everything is zinc aluminum or sheet metal anymore and I don't trust it...

Out with the old...

I got the new MBRP system hanging in there. Gonna have a final look at it and adjust if necessary... then tighten it up.

I just plain ran outta gas for today.

I believe these are the clamps I bought. 4x4 junkie had post a link to them.

Battery Terminal Connectors, Military Spec Positive Negative Heavy Duty Auto Car Marine Battery Terminal, with 4 Pcs 2 Gauge 3/8" Copper Lugs,4 Heatshrink,2 Cover and Anti Corrosion Washers (Kit) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DKZRYZK?tag=959media-20

Time will tell if they hold up...

Edit to say these are like solid lead. They sure seem pretty robust.

When I first built this thing a year ago it was kind of giving me vibes of a Mashup of our trucks. Fullwidth axles and big tires on yours and the body of mine.

Little did I know it also has the same floors as your truck too...

☹☹

I took the trailer off The Road Ranger and played musical vehicles. My next focus is going to be the Lincolns and my F250 which have been neglected.

But when I moved the trailer away from the truck, I found this

Driver brake lens popped out somewhere along the trip. I had an extra pair, but they are a slightly different pattern, so I’m saving them for whatever project, and I just took an old-fashioned tractor-trailer type lens, shaved the edge so it would fit in the bezel, and glued in with some shoe glue. Of course, temporary.

I’ll either replace both with the pair I’ve got, or maybe buy a new one online hoping it will match either set.

it never ends….

I swapped out the 21 LED tail/stop light with one of the ones I had in the shed of miracles. If you look real close, it’s a hair different, but it suits the hell out of me.

The other issue I had were the sequencing turn signals. On the same/driver side, it was only through two lights. The one in the outside wouldn’t come on. It was a loose wire, problem solved, but…

When I was looking at them, checking them with the four-way flashers. They sequence with this little 12 or $13 module out of China on eBay. Well, the one on the right goes 1– 2–3. When it shifts, the light before goes out. On the left, it goes 1 – 12–123. They sequence outward, but once the light comes on, it doesn’t go out till they all go out.

😤

I’m going to put fixing it pretty low on the priority list, but that’s the kind of thing that makes me crazy.

Oh, and after a week of running perfectly, I started losing vacuum on the AC controls, but not as bad as the original problem.

I don’t know what the original configuration was, but I added a check valve between the head, and the whole HVAC system and vacuum tank. It was a used one out of the shed of miracles. I pulled it and did the blow/suck test and it worked, but not perfectly. So I dug in the box and got another one which seemed to be working perfectly. It also had a larger diaphragm.

The biggest problem is the connections to the soup can and into the system in the firewall are all underneath two or three heater hoses, the AC hoses, etc., etc. Instead of pulling everything, I just used some longer vacuum lines so I could work with it on top of all the hoses. After I make sure the bugs are gone, I’ll make it all clean again.

Seemed to work fine in the driveway, but I never got it out of the road.

i was beating the hell out of it out back...and it didnt fall off..

so....its good.

i pulled the old 90s pioneer radio out and put that power accustiks cp-71w in, from the thread someone else made talking about it.

super cool radio. i have to download the update to get android auto but everything else works fine. and i have to run a camera to the back sometime.

Other than pumping up the back tires for carrying 1,500# of retaining wall block, not much has been done TO the 2011. The 2019 isn't around long enough to do much more than look at it most of the time.
