What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

I got a trailer for the truck. 4'x7'x2'. Sometimes I carry some dirt/gravel/sand in the truck's bed and cleaning up afterwards is a PITA with the corrugated plastic bedliner. The trailer's floor is flat so it will be this trailer's main use.

It will need some work before I can use it. It was my wife's uncle's and sat in a field for some time. The tires still hold air, but are cracked and rotted. That will need replacement. The wiring is also dry rotted. The trailer is all steel so there is a lot of surface rust to remove and repaint, but everything is still very solid... and pretty heavy. Also, there is much more weight on the front since the axle is about 2/3 towards the rear.. With the trailer unhooked I can stand up at the very rear and the front will not lift at all. If I jump it lifts by about an inch.

For the price, I won't complain and it'll give me something to work on during the coming winter.

I got the air box out all the ducting cleaned really well. Got passenger fire wall, floor board and trans tunnel up to the shifters cleaned, holes patched, rust converted, primed, and sprayed with truck bed liner. I than crawled underneath and did the underside of the floor pan. Than I cleaned and prepped the engine side firewall prepped and painted. Cleaned out the pass. Side of inside of cowl sprayed inside with rust converter the best I could, from air box intake.shes definitely a work in progress, seems like a lot of work to be done only owning her for a month, but I wanted to prevent the rust from getting further and get it looking decent inside she was mighty ugly when i picked her up.

Cleaned it for the big journey tomorrow!

Used it as a work truck for the first time ever. Had some garbage and scrap in the bed. Every time I took a corner it felt like the bed was ready to fly off and it was swaying like a ship in rough seas. 🤔 I guess those DJM lowering shocks have a superb load carrying capacity with the cheap rock auto springs lol

Today I replaced both the transmission fluid and the transfer case fluid.

Not today but recently

went and got some fall decorations, 2 bales of straw, corn shocs, pumpkins, mums and small gourds. Nice 30 mile round trip. Hadnt drove it in a while so it was good to get it out on the road again.

Replaced a couple damaged wires to the rear, replaced the evap line because it was rusted out (no codes though, go figure), gas tank back in place....

Finished carrying it home and then made it put it's trailer back in storage.
