What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

I checked iScrap App and it says $87/ton for vehicles. Better than I saw a couple months ago.
But aluminum is in the toilet at 18/lb. I'm used to double that.

replaced front springs, shocks and brake hoses, also brake booster hopefully I will have time to relpace rear spring bushings, rear shocks, and adjust the rear brakes tomorrow. all on my 93

$4/hundred for sheet steel/shredder. Not much at all, but I needed to move it since I have a cop breathing down my neck

The pile behind my garage is getting ridiculous but I am holding out for a turn around.

Investing in scrap iron is a fickle business.

Used ospho rust remover on the rear pumpkin, trailer hitch, and spare tire mount.

Just surface rust but better to kill it now.

My scrap pile was getting pretty big, both the pile at my parents and at mine. Cop came by just before all this Corona crap and told us that we had to clean it up or face fines. I was trying to hold out for the price to go up a bit but he forced my hand. Live out in the middle of nowhere but supposedly several people complained so we have to do something. Was told no vehicles not licensed/insured/inspected, no working on vehicles, no stockpiling building materials, no scrap, nothing. Fines are $100 per item per day. I’d like to put an 8’ fence along the road and run a 20 mile horse fencer line across the top. My property is the nicest it’s looked in over 20 years because the person before me didn’t take care of it and collected junk. The cop claimed there was never a complaint against it until after I bought it which is a total lie. :flipoff::pissedoff:

I would say you maybe pissed someone off...

Or maybe it's your HOA... lol

Sucks to be going through that though.

The one neighbor is pissed that I got the property and not him, so there is that.

No HOA here, I have just over two acres and my parents have around 6. I can see one house from my property, barely. When the leaves are down I can kinda see my parents house too. My parents you can’t see anything from their house and there’s only one visible house from their property. It was peaceful here until someone got their panties in a wad.

Gather up all the scrap steel/iron/aluminum, tack weld it together here and there. Slap a few dabs of paint on it in an abstract way. and call it "art"
Hang a 4 Sale sign on it...it no longer is junk, but an artwork you are selling.

Ranger put in a little work today, finished loading scrap and hauled it in... just over 1,600 lbs of scrap. Should have got a picture. Crawled it up out of my yard just fine.
You hauled the Ranger in for scrap? That’s a bit drastic, don’t you think?

....... FML 1 inch to short..... something tells me a the 7 inch yoke wasn't taken into account for the new 1350 series yoke which is 6 inches....

It's been a bad week....

Nope, used the Ranger to haul the scrap, lol. I keep welding the Ranger back together

Kid and I did the rear brakes because it was finally a nice warm day to do them. Kid used what I taught her the last time the tires were off and installed the tires and torqued them both before and after a drive. Teach the next generation to pull wrenches and then you can sleep better knowing they are more prepared for the world than them there city folk. No more of this 🙋‍♀️🚕. She may become a desk jockey but she will know the basics to save her some cash in the end.
