What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

long ago one of my aunts showed up in school being left-handed. it was not only frowned upon but the school also forced her to learn to write
with her right hand. in the end she was proficient with using either hand for writing.

we now return to the regularly scheduled topic,,,,ah, what is it?

Something about doing stuff with Rangers...

Redoing vacuumed lines on the 2.8 w/ duraspark conversion. The whole manifold vs ported. Got a bad hesitation on quick takeoff. Found a plugged accelerator pump injection port. Only got squirt from the right side. 🤔 wonder if that’s my trouble? Off with the carb.

I’m right handed and detached half my right rotator cuff. Had to learn to do everything left handed for a while. Accuracy is important in the head. Just sayin. Had surgery to repair but I still find myself working left handed way more than I use to. The right arm doesn’t have the strength lifting that it did before.

Had the box trailer out for the first time in quite a while, nothing makes a 2.3 ranger feel more powerful than after youve towed something big, unhooking it and running without a load. My zero to 50 times are measured in miles not seconds when I have the box trailer hitched up. (takes about 2 miles to hit 50).

I always feel the same way after I take my winter sand bags out of the back. "wow, it feels like a freaking rocket now."

Old man said the same thing after he pulled the windshield off his Harley, said it felt like a sport bike compared to before.

I took mine for a ride today with my dog... he loves going in the truck. I got him a 4 piece nugget and I got a small frosty. Then we sat in the parking lot of one of the pizzerias that my wife is in charge of operations. She wanted me to do some recon. It wasn't good... packed lobby but nobody was carrying out food. I tried to call the store to see if they wanted me to help... they wouldn't even answer the phone. It's no wonder the store is bleeding money.

Not my ranger, but my brother was gifted a beat up, not running 85 BII. Chopped out back ( not finished ) tried to get it fired up. Brand new starter on it, gave it a battery and let er rip. Cranked over twice then the dreaded spin no engagement. Took a closer look and it had no starter index ring. WTH? Looked around and found one over by Detroit. We picked it up last week and I put it on today. Found his transfer case was grenaded. Some other really crazy drive shaft stuff. More work for another day.

A few more posts and we hit 300...

Deleted two beds, stove and the kitchen sink.

Fueled and loaded up the 2011 for the next Search and Rescue training session. It looks like it might be a "if it's raining, it's real training" type weekend.

changed oil & greased the front end, fueled up for a weekend of towing. Escape got a oil change too , tire change to the winter treads, and used the box trailer to go pick up a new gas range. Before delivering it to its destination I also loaded up my big tool box with tools , a engine hoist and a push mower. Heavy load! I dont think the ranger would of liked it or got it stopped very well, its hitched to the flatbed and will get the lawn deere on it in the morning along with a yard cart full of tomatoe cages.

Watching it accumulate leaves..

Spit shined the chrome. I like the way chrome jumps out on patina paint.
