What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Oh my sport trac was 2wd and it went way farther than most 2wds have. I did put a auto locker in the rear end. I may still have it in the garage. We could put it in and shock some guys haha

If you ever come to NJ let me and sno show you some stuff. People think this state is garbage and it totally is! But modern racing was born here, the pines are awesome for trail riding, and you can legally buy weed from that guy in front of wawa now. Slippery Pete is a cool guy.

I have to travel for work and I think New Jersey has a Prevost service center so don't be surprised if I show up with my bag ready to crash in your basement hahaha

Plenty of free cages beds in the basement.

Doesn't matter If there was, you ain't getting far with a stock 2wd. :ROFLMAO:

It is fun on the hard pack sand trails of the pines but most of you 4x4 guys don't know nothing about good ole fashion dirt track skills. In the words of Doc Hudson, "turn right to go left".

Even though he has million dollar toys now I'll bet in his youth @snoranger has been back in the pines with a 2wd vehicle that doesn't belong there doing insane speeds like a true piney.
25 years ago, I may or may not have shaved this style mirror off the passenger side of my 2wd ‘79 f350 supercab going too fast on a trail it didn’t belong on.

I put a 92 S10 4.3 Into the ditch at colliers mills on the trail from the old gun range to lake success. Right before the wood "bridge" where there's that big open washboard straight. I'm sure you have drag raced on that. I had that thing doing at least 70 floating over the washboards, tried to kick the rear out to turn and since I was barely touching the road it just went into the ditch of brown water. Fun day...

Truck literally just got some scratches from the sand kicking up on it. I needed underwear and 6 friends to pull me back on the trail.

Seems everytime I play around back there now mr. Game Warden shows up... Not that I'm complaining since I love and support game wardens but good God, where were they 20 years ago? I'm angry! I pay insane amounts of money in taxes, fees, licenses etc for them to keep people like me away from me! I suck, don't let me around me.

Since I've been putting on more milage than normal while I fueled it I checked the oil level. I was a half quart down in about 2k miles so I added and drove out to the GF house. I did notice, it only took a year or more to notice, that I haven't left my fog lights on and ended up with a dead battery. When I added them I used the info from some one here on the forums and used the parking light power wire from the switch as a powered source for the relay so when kill the headlights it kills the fogs also. This has prevented the human error of leaving them on. The point is no dead battery from leaving the bloody factory addon lights killing the battery on me.

Anyone wanna go drive my truck? Looked at it on my security camera app and it seemed to be sinking into the ground after all the rain yesterday. Plus it seems the chickens have started colonizing the bed... I'm a sad panda...

I tried to get my dad to take it to work for the week but he complained since the interior is all torn apart and wires are dangling from the roof. Pansy...

With an offer like that, your Ranger might have more air time than Michael Jordan...

What's all this nonsense about clean trucks? Got mine muddy and dusty today.

Mine is still hiding in the garage for a car show next weekend lol.

The F-150... is a dirt ball.

First thing to do on a Ranger in a while, and hasn't been on any of mine... this weekend was 50% off at pick n pull so I went scavenging for things that are on my list on my phone... I checked off some things I needed but unfortunately there were no good seats, and due to some lawsuit thing all of the RWD/4x4 vehicles are sitting straight on the ground so I couldn't get a transfer case and driveshafts to make the '98 V8 explorer 4x4 instead of AWD... another time... Anywho, here's a list of what I got:

Rear sliding window for the '97
Wing windows for the extended cab part of the '97
Tach cluster for the '97
Spare grille for the '97
Stock stereo with cassette for the '97 so I can plug in an aux cord, I left the trim around it since the left side lighter port is broke on mine
bed mat for the '90
Electric antenna for the '98 Explorer that isn't even broken and has the trim piece on top

Doesn't seem too bad for like $140 all together... Dang near everything was ~$20 ea except for the bed mat that was $3... I should grab more of those when I see them if they're $6 normally, I've been looking for a new one and they're $50 or so everywhere... This one was under a canopy so it's even pristine... and I found about $2 in change sitting on top of it :)

Gave the Ranger a bath today. Started it to park it and "check oil" light was on. No oil pressure. Tried to see if I could see the sender wire came off threw the PS wheel well, I could only see the exhaust manifold. I guess tomorrow I'm jacking the truck up to see it the wire came off or I need a new sender.

That will you teach not to wash it! :p

So Saturday was a lot of prep work for fixing the red Ranger. Got everything situated and got the broken exhaust bolts out of the donor motor. Got the red Ranger moved from my property to where I’m working on it and left a nice trail of oil down the street. Feel like there’s a hole somewhere.

Yesterday was 4th shenanigans. Went to a local lake for awhile, grilled some food, set up and shot off our best fireworks display to date.

Today we return to working on the red Ranger. Gonna see if the motor can be changed in a day. Plus the extra stuff I want to do.

Just remembered the other thing I got at the junkyard... I snabbed a single D35 manual hub and the wheel bearing nuts for both sides in hind site I bet the other hub was probably in the bed or something... but at this point I think I have 4 spares and I haven't broken one yet...

The original discussion has disappeared. IDK.

We need some positive news. What did you do to your Ranger taday?
Secured a large tear in my driver seat with small zip ties. Could have hand sewn but why bother?! Wouldn't mind swapping in the nice leather seats from a 2011 fx4 Ranger one day if I ever got lucky enough to find an available set. Until then.......zip ties will hold me over quite nicely.
