What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Backed it out of its parking spot and squared it up to my banged up Pontiac. Used the Ranger's front ring to anchor my "come-along" and straightened the rear frame connector/brace. Still need to do a little massaging. Think a ratchet strap will get it then a pipe wrench and a 3lb sledge. Next is more hammering, cutting and hopefully welding some new metal. Got a real bad spot on the frame though. Hopefully I can weld it but not looking good.

Installed my new intercooler grill!!!! :yahoo: Took all of 20 minutes, removed nothing for the install, and looks "finished" now.

Went by Jimmy Johns and picked up some subs, and me and the wife took the Ranger up onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. Stopped at an over look and had a "tailgate picnic".
Beautiful day here, none of that white wet stuff....everything is a healthy GREEN.
Grumpaw

Im getting ready to do the valve cover gasket... spark plug wells filled with oil. But its such a pain in the pooter. I got the necessary tools ready then said whatever and wandered off. Someone come do it for me!

Drive it down here and I'll help....
I'll loan you my left handed screwdriver.

Im soooooooo lazy

I also need to buy a ton of crap not related to the valve cover to do the valve cover... new intake gaskets, new fuel injector o rings, etc etc. I miss the days of having wing nuts to throw a valve cover on and off quickly. I can take my 289 valve covers off and adjust the valves in 5 minutes.

But, it'll only take an hour!!!!:stirthepot:

All you gotta do is start removing stuff

You have a 289 with adjustable valves/solid lift cam??? Is it a "K" engine, original 271 HP engine???

Its a 65 mustang originally a 6 cylinder the 289 is a block from something else i have no clue, but yes it a hi-po k engine. I couldn't even tell you what was stock but it is solid lifter, roller rocker, comp cams crap in it now.

Here ya go...a ton of crap and its free...you just have to come get it. :icon_rofl:
