What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

I LOVE Rock auto!!! I ordered all the 87 front brake stuff on Saturday and it all came in today.

I was going to start, but I’m tired of this winter weather. I couldn’t find my sunblock anywhere....

put battery cable back on and have charger hooked up, may be driving the truck tomorrow. very cold here, at least it should take care of any lingering insects.

I ordered a new aftermarket Duraspark distributor to replace my overpriced, shiny Pertronix unit with an 8 second delay built into the centrifugal advance. The Duraspark distributor won't be shiny billet but the advance will work properly.

Whats the point of a distributor if it isn't shiney?

We need a prize for the first member to get a distributor gold-plated and show up for a TRS event.

Git yer bling on! :icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

This is basically the Apocalypse in central Texas. Freezing rain and sleet. People here can't drive on dry pavement when the sun is shining.

The ranger, and everything else, is going to stay parked today!

You're probably wise, we get snow every winter and people "forget" how to drive in it. he idiots are more dangerous than the driving conditions. By the way, what you have is a light dusting.

Oh I know it's nothing. But people here either drive 15 over the speed limit on the stuff, or 3 miles an hour. They also tend to forget that bridges ice over a LOT more easily than the roads.

Roads don't have much on them as the ground is too warm. But I'm not leaving the house till the air is over freezing for a few hours. And even then, no guarantee in the low spots.

I’ve never been to Texas... do they have a sign at every single bridge reminding you that “bridge freezes before road surface”?

Yeah but I can assure you that no one reads them. Or, as a precaution, they hit their brakes right as they drive onto the bridge..... you can guess how that goes.

Was gonna drive it to the GFs house as we have a bunch of limbs down from ice.... but the doors were frozen shut

Ditto for Atlanta. Not now, just rain today. It’s something folks up north sometimes don’t get. It gets freezing cold down here, then sleet or rain which freezes into glare black ice immediately. Brings down the trees and power lines. But it’s generally warm enough cold (if that makes sense) so it’s super slippery as soon as you drive on it. I don’t care what you drive, can’t drive on solid “warm” ice.

I dreamed of a big 4wd like my F250 or even this 87 Ranger 4wd when I grew up in the snow, but I’d never take them out now cuz as @MikeG stated, no one else has a clue: they still drive seventy or they drop to 10, all together.

I ordered some graphics and emblems for the ‘87 Rickstoration today. 🤔 I had a great idea I’m pretty sure you guys will all hate. Can’t spoil it now, just have to wait for the reveal. 😁

Rescued it.....

Big branch fell right where I usually park it, but it had been sitting on the other side of the driveway for two weeks. Got a couple of scuffs on the right fender. No glass broken and mirror on that side is fine. It even started! Think the battery is something like 7 years old.... and it's below freezing. Amazing.

Couple of guys showed up with chain saws and volunteered to cut the limb up. Tried to pay them but they wouldn't take anything. Good old redneck entertainment, I guess......
