What did you do to your 2019 and up Ranger today?

Installed a CB radio the other day and got the SWR on the antenna matched to the radio. Since, space to put two-way radios of any kind in the 2019+ Rangers is so limited, I had to go with a compact model that would play well with the interior. I went with the Midland 75-822 and a Hustler magnetic mount antenna. Eventually, the truck will get a hard mount antenna and the magnetic mount will move the the girlfriend's car but this will serve for now.

I am quite pleased with the setup and admittedly surprised. When I did some radio checks after matching the antenna to the radio, I was talking to a person 15 miles away. I didn't expect that with a CB at all. It is possible conditions were right. In any case, if anyone is considering a radio like this, this one will serve you well.

Cobra and Uniden makes units similar to this. The Uniden CMX760 and the Cobra C75 WX ST but they don't have the ability to convert into a hand carry unit. All three have good reviews on various forums.

Installed a Tough Country tonneau cover
and Raptor side steps.

Took dog to vet. Never got anything built in the back, but just having the jump seats out makes for plenty of room. I think she likes riding in the truck, more than in a car, doesn't fuss so much.

I think maybe you posted this in the wrong thread... unless you have a 2019 and newer Ranger you're talking about.

Beautiful dog though...

well I must have f'ed up... it's supposed to be in "what did you do with your ranger today"... can you please move it? thanks my bad can then delete this heh

Easy to do if you miss the detail of which forum it's in. The title is close enough to easily make a mistake. I'll move it for you. :)

Last Friday morning I was surprised by a seemingly random shipping confirmation email from SpedEx.

Dig a little deeper and it's for an aFe muffler delete.

Apparently, 'Under the influence' doesn't even begin to accurately describe the night I had prior 😅

Put it on after work today. Doesn't sound too bad! Windows up, it's hardly any louder than the noises my fiances stock focus ST makes. I'm happy enough I suppose.

** edit: It makes a touch more noise with the windows up than I originally stated.. but only when you want it to. It's more or less silent in cab if your just cruising along. I'm quite pleased.

Installed a Dee Zee tailgate assist, placed a Rough Country bed mat in the bed and placed the stick on RANGER letters on tailgate.
Should be at least 10 more hp.

Changed the oil. Mobil 1, Motorcraft filter.
First time I've used Mobil 1 in it. Supply chain being what it is these days I just get whatever 5w-30 synthetic I can find.

Loaded up the firewood for the next camping excursion. The rest will get loaded tomorrow and the trailer hooked up for the actual trip.

I have a spare set, from looking at the pic looks like I need to replace a few (most) of the letters. They don't look that crooked in reality... maybe it's my old eye site. Will try to do better next time. Passenger side turned out fine. Take my word for it!

Rotated the tires.
My system with two small floor jacks:
Jack up LF and LR. Swap tires, put only 3 bolts on LR. Let down jacks.
Jack up RF and RR. Put RR on RF, do not put the front tire on the rear but roll it around to the LR.
Let down RF, carry jack to LR.
Jack up LR again, remove wheel. This is why I only put 3 bolts on. Put RF on LR.
Put the tire that was on the LR on the RR.
It’s not as complicated as it sounds. Of course I put Armor All on the back sidewalls while the tires are off. 😁

You should buy a pair of jack stands...
