I have a 1994 2.3 ranger. What year model blocks will work with my fuel injection and stuff. I have another 94 but motors bad too. I know where a 88-89 model is, and I dunno if I should try it. Looks a little different but from what I could tell it'd work

'89-94 are basically the same other than external brackets, intake manifold and some wiring. The coils moved all over the place over the years but the long block and intake manifold pattern is interchangeable. I think up to '95 might work, the main change is in the crank sensor location (not interchangeable) and where used the cam sensor. I believe in '93 the EGR flow sensor was added so you'll need to keep that from your original.

In short, '89-94, use your original brackets and all wiring and sensors for the easiest swap.
